Color Splash Studio
I will be posting pictures of the windows as I work on them. Please send me a message if interested
I am a self taught glass artist working mainly on glass mosaics. I use a mixture of stained glass, beads, rusty bits, scrabble squares, jewelry and found treasures; anything that I can glue down that will add to the story. I also enjoy bookmaking, rug hooking, doodling and a variety of fiber arts.

With support from the Greater Columbus Arts Council, Mayor Ginther, and the Columbus City Council, I’ve been able to add a loom to my studio and begin developing new handwoven work. This grant supports the exploration of woven structure, texture, and pattern using yarns made by hand and colored through natural dye processes. The loom opens up new possibilities for translating ideas into cloth and for creating durable, functional textiles rooted in time-honored techniques. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue growing this body of work and to expand my skills through weaving in the coming seasons.
Thank you to , , and for continuing to support artists and creative practices in Columbus.

My Story
I started making stained glass mosaic windows about 20 years ago, back before Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram or any of the other sites that inundate our minds with so many new ideas. I don’t remember what originally inspired me to try this medium but I don’t remember ever seeing anything like it before so at the time I thought I made it up (I didn’t). We were remodeling the upstairs of our 100+ year old house which provided me with 8 large wooden windows for my canvas. Those first windows were made in our living room with small children running around and sometimes helping me fill in the glass, which always felt like doing a puzzle. After many glass splinters in feet I moved into a nook in the basement, then out to the back porch which really wasn’t very weather friendly. I finally decided it was time to find a proper studio space and that is how I ended up here at BrickBox Studios in Grandview.
My style has progressed from doing all glass mosaic to using more cut glass and filling in the background with mosaic pieces. I love using something old as the base for all my pieces; such as an old window, a bicycle wheel, silverware, sprockets or a microwave plate. Then I create my design using stained glass, beads, jewelry, rusty pieces or anything else that will add to the story.
I also enjoy doing a little bit of leaded stained glass, mostly small suncatchers or adding glass to upcycled old Bicycle wheels.
Along with glass work I enjoy book making, doodling, rug hooking, sewing, fiber arts, dying, and embroidery. It is hard to make time for so many different creative outlets not to mention the amount of space such varied interests take. I would like to someday have one big studio that has room for all of my passions so I can spend my days bouncing from one activity to the next, but that may require a move to the country and a large barn.
