We at AutismBCD want to give a heartfelt thank you to all the families that came out to our Family Fun Day at Kids Empire yesterday! The event was a huge success. Seeing the faces of all the smiling children (and adults π) was truly the highlight of our day.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to connect with such amazing families, share resources, and create a fun, welcoming space for everyone. Your support, energy, and participation made this event so special, and we couldnβt have done it without you!
We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future and continuing to support you and your families every step of the way. Thank you again for being a part of our community π

ππ MEET OUR RBT'S ππ
SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK: Mrs. Michelle Holy
π How long have you been an RBT?
A: I just recently became an RBT, about 2 months now!
π What made you want to become an RBT?
A: I have always been drawn to advocacy, human services, and mental health. When I learned about ABA I knew it was the field I wanted to be in.
β¨What advice would you give to someone who wants to become an RBT?
A: My advice would be GO FOR IT. The ABA field needs people who are passionate, caring, and serious about the work. If you have an interest in it, don't doubt yourself!
π What do you love most about being an RBT?
A: πβ¨ I truly do have to say it's the children. They are all so special and unique in their own ways with these big, beautiful personalities. Getting to work 1:1 with these fantastic kids is just the most rewarding work I can think of.
π‘ Why did you choose ABCD? What sets it apart and makes it special to you?
A: ABCD was there for me every single step of the journey of me becoming an RBT. From the first steps in the training process, to day one on the job. They really nurture a supportive and positive atmosphere. I can't think of a better company to work for.
πWhat is something your clients have taught you?
A: To always expect the unexpected. Every day is be different just like every child is different. And even on the hard days, there is joy in the little things- the little wins, the smiles, learning new skills, or even hearing your favorite song. Every day you can find joy as long as you look for it.
π₯ What's one thing you want people to know about you?
A: I want people to know that I am very serious about the care and progress of these children. As a mother myself and as an RBT , the quality of care to these children is my top priority.

ππ MEET OUR RBT'S ππ
SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK: Mr. Richie Adams
π How long have you been an RBT?
A: 4 years this April! π
π What made you want to become an RBT?
A: I decided to become an RBT due to working in adult criminal mental health. I had some adult clients with autism and it really spoke to me. If they had gotten help sooner than they did, maybe they wouldn't be where they were. That's when I learned about early childhood intervention. π±π
π₯Ήβ¨ What's the most rewarding moment you've experienced as an RBT?
A: The most rewarding experience I've had is with my current clients parents. Just seeing the look of amazement and ecstatic nature in their faces and their eyes every time he makes accomplishments; seeing just how happy it makes them to watch him master goals and do the things they thought he couldn't do. ππ
π What do you love most about being an RBT?
A: The kids! Seeing their developmental growth and how much they learn and seeing how happy they are when they start seeing things they didn't know they could. πβ¨
π How do you celebrate your clients success?
A: Reinforcement! Be it additional praise or prizes. I want him to understand when he meets a goal, that is a big deal- so anyway that I can make him happy and proud of himself, I try to give to him. π₯³π
π£οΈ What's a skill you love to help clients work on?
A: Functional communication! Being able to communicate things that they need. Or understanding how to use certain types of communication with you, whether it be verbally or sign language, or even using your tablet- being able to functionally communicate the things they want and seeing how happy those kids get when people understand them. π¬π
π‘ Why did you choose ABCD? What sets it apart and makes it special to you?
A: You can tell their principles and their morals are in the right place. As well as, they have a culture of advancement that I appreciate. They're not just about staying in one place; they want RBT's and BCaBA's to advance, which I think is amazing. ππ
π₯ What's one thing you want people to know about you?
A: I am very passionate about my work and the development of these kids and their futures. ππ

Each case of Autism is unique (hence: it is a spectrum). The treatment for each case depends on the excess or lack of behaviors. As there are certain behavioral issues that accompany autism, there is always a bright side. With Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a therapist can better shape the good behaviors and replace the challenging behaviors with more appropriate and preferred ones.
