Happy Flag Day! Flag day commemorates the adoption of the original United States flag design with 13 red and white stripes along with 13 stars. Did you know? The current fifty star flag was designed in 1958 by an Ohio high school student.

Happy 251st birthday to the U.S. Army! Thank you to all who serve or have served for keeping us safe and free. 🇺🇸

The Ohio General Assembly voted to support our first responders that experience a PTSI (Post Traumatic Stress Injury) while serving. We are so grateful for our first responders! 🇺🇸

It is an honor to sponsor House Bill 667- the Reagan Tokes and Patrick Heringer Act, which was voted off the House floor yesterday- 96 “yes” votes and 2 “no” votes.

I am so very grateful to Lisa Tokes, Sarah Heringer, and family for sharing their heartbreaking stories with the House Public Safety committee. While I never got to meet Reagan or Patrick it is a privilege to be able to learn about them through their loved ones and to help share who they were with my colleagues. This bill will truly work to keep our communities safe! More info on the bill in the comments. HB667 now goes to the Senate for consideration.

Two bills I have sponsored passed out of the Ohio House Public Safety Committee this week with overwhelming support.

HB667- the Reagan Tokes and Patrick Heringer Act - 12 “yes” votes and 1 “no” vote.

HB677- the Kelsey Smith Act- unanimously, 13 “yes” votes.

I am so very grateful to Greg Smith, Lisa Tokes, Sarah Heringer, and family for sharing their heartbreaking stories with our committee. While I never got to meet Reagan, Patrick or Kelsey, it is a privilege to be able to learn about them through their loved ones and to help share who they were with my colleagues. These bills will save lives and prevent future tragedies! A vote on the House floor is expected next week. More information on the bills in the comments.

Last week was a busy week in Columbus with committees and session.

In district, it was fun to attend the City of Harrison, ribbon cutting for the new splash pad and playground renovation! This is an example of what it looks like when state and local government work together to improve our community.

I was also thrilled to attend the ribbon cutting and grand re-opening of Great Parks Shaker Trace Nursery. What a fantastic improvement to Crosby Township!

It was an honor to participate in the Colerain Township Memorial Day Ceremony. May we never forget the service and sacrifice of the brave men and women who gave their lives for our safety and the freedoms we enjoy.
