The Bad Button

I've essentially been stuck to the sewing machine these past few days as I've been trying to restock some of the sizes that sold this past weekend in Chicago. This one is no longer available, but I really enjoyed making it. The pattern on the stained kimono that I used was already rather fractured, so I followed that vibe in my layout more than I normally would do.

Now, I've got to get back to making more pieces for this weekend in Pittsburgh with !

I've returned home from Chicago pleasantly exhausted, and now I'm getting ready to make a bunch more stock stock for Pittsburgh . I'm mostly working on replenishing my popular upcycled kimono pieces like this sweet underbust.

Here for Day 2 of the Chicago and while this particular kimono corset make from a beautiful black silk furisode has now sold, I still have a few other pieces available, as well as your classic black options for my goths out there. Come see me in Booth 6 towards the back.

Being both a bird watcher and a lover of vintage textiles, I do really enjoy when fabrics like this come my way. It's fairly common to see me about my local nature area in the morning with binoculars in hand, and I've been teaching myself to identify more birds by their song for the past few years. This time of year is perfect for hearing the new birds who have migrated through from the south.

I hope one of these days to make it over to see Red-Crowned cranes in person, but for now I just have to be satisfied with fabrics. It's not a bad thing though, to be working with this beautiful kimono print! This one is in a 26" waist and will be joining me in Chicago next weekend for .

For whatever reason, my last few posts don't seem to have been getting uploaded with their text. I had wondered why I wasn't seeing anything, but I suppose technology is once again being hinky.

This little cincher was made using a metallic obi, and I decided to pair it with an orange ribbon that worked with the orange flowers taking center front. This will look beautiful with the kimono the new owner bought at Oddities earlier this year.

I meant to post this morning, but things rapidly got so busy at here in St Louis that I completely forgot! This sweet little 24" kimono corset has now sold, but I still have a few available for purchase tomorrow from 10-5. I hope to see you there!

I can't believe I'm already halfway through my show season for the year, but you'll still be able to catch me at a few other cities in June, July and August.
