One thing about me. I raised a spooky kid. Maybe it was just some nature with some nurture but my second child likes all things creepy and odd. When i found bats on the beach by at I knew my Zelda would love it. Of course I should have know it would become her entire personality and I would be forced to create a cake based on the brilliant book. Just a vintage bluey cake for a little cutie.

My son loves automobiles and my daughter loves bunnies. With two children born 4 days apart I have to get creative. How to combine the two? The Busy World of Richard Scarry. Combining the cartoon aesthetic with a Richard Scarry Bunny crashing his helicopter was the trick with this cake. All of the animals in the Busy World are seemingly incompetent so crashing the helicopter seemed legit.

Wedding cake with the most beautiful flower combination! Mix of silk and fresh of course because Lillies are toxic and we must keep everyone safe! So proud of the way this beauty came out!

One of my favorite cakes to date! It’s a chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse, chocolate mousse and chocolate ganache. It was inspired by the beautiful birthday girls tattoos and I had the most fun experimenting with these flowers and colors. Thought it came out well!

Sometimes you gotta make your macarons a little fancy. Give them a little flower hat sometimes :)

Just appreciating teachers this week. Love piping the fruit or vegetable I just in the cupcake on the cupcake :).

There are some color combinations that just work even though they probably shouldn’t. Dark teal and burnt orange is one of them. These were some cakes I did out of a Carmel mistake turned edible art and candied oranges. If you’re doubtful of this combination in fashion or art let this encourage you. Also let this inspire you to take any baking mistake and turn it into something beautiful.

I really shouldn’t be surprised that Zelda wanted a Basilisk cake. I did raise her with her father and we have always been spooky kids that part of why we are together so when we created a mini spooky kid it’s to no one’s surprise. This is definitely a “first draft” kinda basilisk cake but when we had the year we did you get a trial run giant snake and are happy to have it :)
