Klune has a way of writing his stories that makes you feel like you really know the characters and in a way that makes you think it could be real tale every time (despite all the fantasy/sci-fi elements). I loved now Nate and Alex grew closer and how Artemis was hilarious and added such warmth to these two men who started out at odds.

Another huge part I enjoyed was Nate’s reactions to everything. It is so common in sci-fi and fantasy books for the characters to be introduced to this mind-bending idea and just going “oh ok” and going along with it... but not Nate. His reactions and thought processes felt so REAL which was so refreshing to read in a book.

I felt connected to these three and wished them the best. I loved every second of where this story went and I’m not normally a sci-fi reader. By the end - I didn’t even want it to end and to let go of these characters.

I love a good mystery that’s shrouded in the paranormal and this one was so fast paced that it kept me hooked.

Usually I’m not a historical mystery type of girl - but I loved the MC Ruby and how she didn’t believe in any of it but just kept throwing herself into the case.

The atmosphere that Armstrong created was so perfect that you could imagine the town and the people and the creepy vibes. I also loved all of the side characters and hope they return in the next one!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again ... NOTHING CAN BEAT A JANICE HALLETT MYSTERY!!!

These have become my all-time favorite books because of their readability and how it truly just sucks you into the story. I love how it makes you feel like you are the detective searching through the clues!

We get pulled back into the drama of the Fairway Players with this one and another play is happening with more drama, murder and sooo many secrets. There’s such a good mix of old and new characters that it makes you feel like you actually know them.

Once again, I was shocked by the ending and never saw it coming, including who was murdered and who did it. You slowly get to watch all the secrets and drama unfold in these and I swear I am addicted.

If you are a mystery fan and haven’t picked up one of Hallett’s books yet - do yourself a favor and grab one IMMEDIATELY! Especially since this one isn’t quite out yet and you still have time to read the first two before this one is released!

Ugh I knew from the first book that I would LOVE these two rivals coming together. With Delilah’s whimsy and Jackson’s need for a little fun - these two were just perfect for each other while still being complete opposites.

I am obsessed with the banter in these books and I loved how they balanced each other out.

It’s a slow burn that will keep you waiting but OH WAS IT WORTH IT. I was clapping and squealing at this couple (and looking ridiculous while at it).

HIGHLY recommend. B. K. Borison has quickly moved up to my auto-buy category.
