These guys are out of the kiln!!! Planning to reglaze the rims of the inside due to some unsuspected glaze pinholes seen on the last picture (🤞). Love how the dark clay body came through the brushed on white slip . Will be up on my Etsy soon depending on the reglaze!

My matki inspired cups are finally ready! These guys were absolutely so fun to make. I've carved designs seen on traditional clay Matkis onto some mugs. A product of 2 cultures making more products of 2 cultures.
Up on my etsy soon!! link in bio.

I'm so so grateful to everyone who was able to come visit me at last weekend!
I'm slowly learning ceramics is more than just making work in a studio. By connecting with the community I can use my passion to help make positive change.
Through your support, I was able to donate over $1,000 to the charity CARE which provides immediate crisis aid to families in Ukraine.
You can learn more at my.care.org. Message/comment if you have any questions!

An update on my Matki design mugs:
Looks like the glaze layer on this test mug was too thin, also there seems to be a bit of a reaction with my speckled clay body. The glaze is supposed to be a glossy white but it's producing a satin surface, honestly I'm not mad about it! The last picture is another mug with a thicker layer applied, we'll see how it goes. If all goes well the remaining 10 will be on sale at my next market/up on Etsy

Made this small slab built hanging Mandir (Temple/shrine) these past few weeks to house anything that feels special. Showing pictures of it unfired because it might crack/warp (dried a bit too fast 😬)
I drew some inspired folk art on top :)

Purple mugs for Valentine's Day!!!
I wanted these mugs to look like they have tattered/old fabric on the bottoms. I used a fabric transfer method made from a wood block stamp I bought from India. I then finished them with a purple glaze.
These will be up on my Etsy today at 6pm! Link in bio.

There's something therapeutic about making hand-built ceramic work. Feeling the clay dry while you're working; obsessing over a smooth, burnished surface; not considering about an object's function.
Always good to change things up
