Got my book manuscript back from the editor today, and I'm sitting with this small piece of encouragement. It's one thing for people you know to tell you your work is good. But to have that validated by a complete stranger is just an extra boost that I really needed.

Next comes a lot of work to implement the editor's suggestions on how to make it even better. If you need me in the month of October, that's what I'll be doing.

Just a happy lil fella who looks like he’s dreaming of Fall.

Working this morning on a workshop offering next year to study Pope Francis’ document “On The Call To Holiness In Today’s World.” I keep returning to this quote with the question - What aspect of the good news am I being called to embody in this moment?

Moving on to the green page! I haven't kept up doing a square every single day but that's beside the point. These have been fun and easy and meditative - just what I need in the studio right now.

My main art project at the moment is the 100 day project. I decided to keep it small and manageable. I found this hardback kids book at a library sale my plan is to do one small collage each day. I'm doing 5 per page. Each collage picture is taken from old children's books and I use the surrounding text to make funny, nonsensical "captions." I'm also using it as a chance to use up scraps of old artwork. The best thing about it is that I can finish it quickly and cutting out collage pieces is very meditative - both things I need right now!
