Pranav Jani, 2025. Pranav began teaching at OSU in 2004 and is currently a professor of English and Postcolonial Studies. As the former president of the university’s AAUP chapter and an advisor for Students for Justice in Palestine, Pranav has, in recent years, become a target for right-wing organizations like Turning Point USA and Zionist groups like Canary Mission. He is featured on TPUSA’s “professorwatchlist.org” for the crime of making posts calling for people to “stand up against injustice” and “speak out to the best of our ability.” With these and other threats to free speech on campus (Ohio’s SB1 especially), Pranav is continuing his work and starting a podcast to highlight local struggles in central Ohio. His next book is about the 1857 Rebellion in British India.
