Last night was amazing! One more performance of The Matter of Time presented by Movement Afoot tonight! 7 PM Columbus Performing Arts Center.

Movement Afoot is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to tap dance--the only such organization in Columbus. We self-produce all of our concerts on a very small budget, with virtually all administrative and operational support coming from volunteer hours (mostly by our directors and the dancers themselves). If you are able, we would be grateful for your support in the form of a donation to support our upcoming concert, "The Matter of Time"! It's the only professional concert of tap dance you'll find performed by Columbus artists this year. 100% of donations support your local arts community: dancers, musicians, documentarians, theatre staff, etc., who live and work in Columbus.

If you have a few minutes, go to YouTube and find this tribute to Fred Strickler made by Linda Sohl-Ellison. Strickler was born and raised in Columbus, attended Jimmy Rawlins' famed dance school, and did an undergraduate degree at OSU. He passed a few weeks ago at age 81 in California, where he was a professor for decades. He made a great impact on "concert" tap dance, as a co-founder of Jazz Tap Ensemble (with Lynn Dally and Camden Richman) and member of Rhapsody in Taps (Linda Sohl-Ellison). RIP.
