🐾 Gracie is learning the foundations of on-leash obedience! 🐾

Every well-behaved dog starts with the basics. Gracie has been working on important skills like walking politely on leash, paying attention to her handler, sitting when asked, and making good choices around distractions.

Many people think obedience is just about commands, but it's really about communication and building a relationship with your dog. When your dog understands what's expected, walks become more enjoyable and everyday life becomes less stressful for both of you.

Gracie is making great progress, and we're proud of how hard she's working! šŸ’™

Remember: Reliable off-leash freedom starts with solid on-leash foundations.

Training doesn’t stop at home — dogs need to learn how to exist calmly in the real world too. āœˆļøšŸ¾

Charlie joined me at the airport to practice staying neutral around crowds, noises, rolling luggage, strangers, and constant distractions. Public place training builds confidence, improves focus, and teaches dogs how to make good decisions even in busy environments.

A well-trained dog isn’t just obedient in the living room — they can stay calm and connected to their handler anywhere. That’s the goal. šŸ’Ŗ

Training doesn’t just happen at home — real life is where it all comes together 🐾

Taking your dog to a pet store is one of the best ways to work on:
āœ”ļø Focus around distractions
āœ”ļø Loose leash walking
āœ”ļø Calm behavior in exciting environments

New smells, people, dogs, carts, noises… it’s a LOT. And that’s exactly why it’s so valuable.

Start simple: • Keep sessions short
• Reward calm choices
• Don’t expect perfection right away

A well-behaved dog isn’t just trained — they’re practiced in real-world situations.

If your dog struggles in busy places, that’s normal. It just means we need to train there, not avoid it.

Need help getting your dog confident in public? I’ve got you. 🐶

Training TWO puppies at once? 🐶🐶 Sounds cute… and it is—but it’s also double the work if you don’t have a plan.
The biggest mistake I see: treating them like a package deal.
If they do everything together, they learn to rely on each other instead of YOU.

Here’s what actually works:
✨ Train separately first — build focus, confidence, and independence
✨ Short, structured sessions — puppies have short attention spans
✨ One-on-one time daily — even 10 minutes makes a difference
✨ Then practice together — once each pup understands the basics
This helps prevent littermate syndrome (yes, it’s real šŸ‘€) and creates two well-behaved dogs instead of chaos x2.
Two puppies can absolutely thrive together—but only if you train them as individuals first.
Need help managing the madness? I’ve got you. 🐾

Multi-dog homes don’t have to feel chaotic—structure changes everything.
The biggest mistake? Treating all dogs the same. Train each dog individually first so they clearly understand expectations, then bring them together.
Focus on routine, reward calm behavior (not chaos), and use place training to teach dogs how to settle around each other.
And remember—not every dog needs constant interaction. Advocating for space and individual time is key to a balanced pack.
A calm home isn’t about control—it’s about clarity and consistency. 🐾

🐾 Just Adopted a Shelter Dog? Slow Is the Way Forward. 🐾
Bringing home a shelter dog is an amazing thing—but it’s also a huge transition for them.
New smells, new people, new rules, new expectations… it can be overwhelming. Many dogs don’t misbehave because they’re ā€œbad,ā€ they’re simply trying to decompress after weeks, months, or even years of stress.

✨ Decompression matters.
Your new dog needs time to: • Learn they are safe
• Understand their new routine
• Build trust with you
• Settle emotionally before real learning begins
This is why in-home training is so important for newly adopted dogs.

šŸ” Why in-home training works best for shelter dogs: • Training happens in their real environment
• We work with real-life triggers (doors, visitors, other pets)
• The dog isn’t overwhelmed by a new facility
• We build structure without rushing the process
In-home lessons allow us to go at your dog’s pace—creating calm, confidence, and clear communication from the very beginning.

šŸ’› The goal isn’t perfection.
The goal is stability, trust, and guidance while your dog learns what ā€œhomeā€ really means.
If you’ve recently adopted and feel unsure, overwhelmed, or just want to start off on the right foot—you’re not alone. I specialize in helping families and their new dogs navigate this transition successfully.

šŸ“© Message me to set up in-home training designed specifically for newly adopted shelter dogs.

New big puppy (wesley)… older little dog (phoebe)… and suddenly your house feels chaotic šŸ˜…

What started as excitement can quickly turn into stress when the puppy doesn’t understand boundaries and the older dog is overwhelmed.
This is where in-home training lessons make all the difference.
We work inside your home, in real-life situations, teaching: • Puppy manners and impulse control
• Respect for the older dog’s space
• Calm coexistence (not constant chaos)
• Clear communication for you so everyone stays safe and happy
Big puppy energy + little patience doesn’t have to be a disaster.
With the right structure, both dogs can thrive — together. šŸ¾ā¤ļøšŸ™‹ā€ā™€ļø
