THE STORY: i didn’t release any music last year. That wasn’t the plan. I had a whole EP ready, a collab, that I had quietly spent a year planning with another artist, who I considered a friend. We worked tirelessly, getting it just right. Then, right when it was about to go to master, things fell apart. I don’t know why, she broke up with her boyfriend, whom I had become friends with. Secretly, I always felt bad for him, because she always badmouthed him and he was such a great guy. I did my best to stay out of it. I was Switzerland.

Then she stopped returning my calls. I sensed something was off. I begged her to get together to talk. She wouldn’t do it. Then one day, the other shoe dropped. She messaged me saying she didn’t want to do the project anymore.

I was in disbelief. A year gone. I didn’t understand and I was livid. But what can you do? I contemplated revenge. But it’s true what they say: success is the best revenge. I’ll go further, moving on and doing your best is the best revenge.

I won’t get that time back, but it did make me a better artist. And I got this song. I generally like to keep it positive. But this needed to be said.

It’s said artists are the only people who can turn pain into something positive.

It felt true on this one.

Thanks to everyone who’s supported FAKE! It’s been a labor of love and immensely rewarding to create with such a fantastic group of individuals. It’s honestly my favorite thing I’ve ever made & it wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity & commitment of these individuals.

my absolute queen-mother-teacher who had infinite patience and cheerleading as she taught me a new craft AND she hopped in and acted when I needed her. This brit is all aces 🏆

my brother from another mother (THE GREGS) who drove up from OC to be a part of this. His headshots are legendary and I will always remember how his skin sparkled outside the # # # theater 💋

There is no one in the world like and he generously came to get carjacked before going to work 🐪

the scariest guy at my gym, who just happens to be a sweetheart and absolutely nailed his part. The perp hug may be my fav moment.

Lastly, it’s not everyday you get to make a video with your best friend. you complete me and I wouldn’t rather have anyone else as my buddy cop 👮‍♀️

The show was a total banger. Thanks to everyone who came! And my castmates who were not only talented and committed, but kind & generous. What a life! And under a full moon, no less 🌕

IT’S MY BDAY! Been a crazy couple days. Went down with an injury during tech week and had to miss dress rehearsal and the first performance. Worst case scenario in my mind. But now, here we are, on my bday, and I’m ready to rip tonight! What a gift! Health really is it, you know. Everything else is bonus.
