This is what we’re dealing with today.
Our crews were able to get some much-needed rest last night and are back out there this morning, working tirelessly to get properties cleared and safe.

Long hours. Cold temps. Heavy snow.
And they’re still showing up, pushing through, and taking pride in the work they do.

If you see one of our teams out today, send them some warm thoughts (or a wave 👋). These rockstars are giving it everything they’ve got. ⭐️💪❄️

With colder temperatures moving in, our crews have been busy preparing properties and staying ahead of conditions. This includes treating rock salt, delivering salt, and staging equipment at properties in advance of the approaching weather.

Proactivity is one of the reasons for The Snowmen’s success and why property managers continue to trust us to protect their properties. Staying ahead of the weather allows us to respond efficiently and help maintain safer conditions as temperatures drop.

Crystal McKay, Director of Business Operations at The Snowmen, has earned the Certified Snow Professional (CSP) designation from the Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA).

The Certified Snow Professional (CSP) program is the nationally recognized standard for professionalism, leadership, and excellence in the snow and ice management industry.

A CSP is an experienced, educated leader committed to best-in-class service and risk-aware operations. Certified Snow Professionals exemplify the following core principles:

Reliable – Values consistent service delivery and clear communication

Accountable – Prioritizes safety, partnerships, and risk management

Resourceful – Applies industry best practices backed by extensive experience

To earn the CSP designation, candidates must meet strict eligibility requirements tied to verified industry experience and successfully complete a comprehensive examination. The exam covers key operational and business disciplines including Business Management, Human Resources, Marketing, Subcontractor Management, Snow & Ice Science, and Snow & Ice Operations and Techniques.

Certification does not end with the exam. CSPs are required to earn continuing education credits annually, ensuring they remain current with evolving industry standards, technologies, and best practices.

The CSP program is designed to develop leadership and mastery across four foundational areas: professionalism, experience, knowledge, and excellence—qualities that align directly with The Snowmen’s commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality snow and ice management services.
