Another Slick City mural project in the books. This park is opening soon in Woodbury, MN just west of the “Twin Cities “!

A progress pic for the new Slick City in Woodbury, MN. We only have to cut in the lower forefront buildings in this piece and spray some highlights to finish it. The slide that will be installed along this wall angles up from left to right and will fit into the space like a glove visually. It’s yellow and black. I’m not sure the height of this wall but it’s over 30’. Plotting these pieces is wonderfully complicated and I love it!

I don’t care about “stuff “. I don’t have a bunch of toys and nice clothes. Those things never meant much to me. I do care about art! It’s an investment that gains value and adds a very personal soul to your surroundings.
Cedric Umoja-Day and I started our professional art careers at the same time and I’ve always respected his voice and his authenticity. Ced is the artist’s artist! When I talk with my peers in the art community, his name comes up the most. Not only is he a great artist but he’s also a great human being. Cedric is who I call when I’m on the road and I’m loosing my mind creatively and I need an artist to talk to.
I commissioned him to do a piece in his broken script Afro-futuristic style. I only asked that he look at my Douglas family tartan for inspiration on colors.
He killed it! 🔥 It feels like home! These cell phone pictures don’t do justice to the depth in layers. I’m proud to finally own one of his works but I’m more proud to call him a friend and a peer!
