The Park Rangers crew ready to hit the streets for ‘Clean Up Columbia’!!

The Columbia Park Rangers celebrated Earth Day by assisting members of the Old Public Grounds with a cleanup at  Locust Street Park. 

Hello Rangers,
We had an excellent Adopt A Highway clean up this evening with 14 volunteers picking up 29 bags of trash along with assorted larger unbaggable items. We weren't as fortunate with our Tuesday night work detail at the Columbia Crossings/ River Park due to a wallop of a storm that chased off all our hard working volunteers before they could finish. We'd like to finish removing grass and weeds from the unfinished tree mulch areas so everything is ready for mulching on Monday. If we could get a handful or so of us together Saturday, April 18, at 8:30a, I think we could wrap the work up in a timely manner.

This is not a dress rehearsal.

We'll perform our required April trash pick this Thursday, April 16. At 5:45p, we'll meet at the River Trail parking area where Front street crosses under the Rt 462 bridge. I'll have bags, safety vests, gloves, and trash pickers. We'll split into teams assigned to half mile sections and head out to our 2.1 mile stretch of 441/Front St. to complete our task.

Hello Rangers,
This is a reminder of our work detail this Tuesday, April 14, at the Columbia Crossings/River Park. Help is welcome anytime after 5:30p. We'll be cleaning leaves, weeds, etc from the beds around the building and perform any needed light shrub pruning. We will remove grass and weeds around trees to prepare proper mulch beds for mulching to be done the following Monday by a Kleenrite volunteer group(with some Park Rangers as back up).
Come on down to enjoy a nice Spring evening by the river.
