Yesterday we attended a wild game feast and we all made something different to enter into the category of venison! I made Mississippi Roast, Gauge made steak bites, and Gemma entered our very own Bacon Cheddar burgers! GUESS WHAT?! Gemma won 2nd place over all venison recipes with her burgers! Needless to say, we are proud of her for harvesting the deer, using our recipe to make Venison Bacon Cheddar Burgers and the courage to enter them in a wild game food competition against mostly adults!

Barbara Seats never lets me down! I get excited when I see her name pop up on my phone when she calls me! She always brings me a snack and a refreshing drink! She knows my favorite snack she makes is her caramel puffs… they are addictive!

Reminder! DO NOT PUT YOUR MEAT DIRECTLY ON ICE IN A COOLER! Place your meat in bags to keep them dry and put ice all around it! Take Greg Pollard’s example of his meat in his cooler, and do that instead! This makes me so happy!
Side note: do not put hot or warm hinds in bags… make sure they are cooled down… then put them in bags to keep the meat dry with ice all around them.

I swear Ethan Warfel has a smile on his face with permanent marker… you literally can’t wipe it off! This boy is the true mark of what we need to be raising our young sportsman to be like! He was humble, excited, and thankful for this buck he was blessed to harvest so perfectly!

Join me in congratulating Travis on his first deer ever! This 8 point came in just close enough that he could make a perfect shot… and it was HIS BIRTHDAY TOO! Mason and Travis made memories for a lifetime! I love seeing young ones in the woods and the family traditions being passed on!

Congratulations to all of the successful hunters today and a special thank you to Keith for bringing me Burger King with his very nice size doe!
