So I have used a chill plate for years. My biggest issue has been trying to get my wort down to temp in a single pass with ground water. Usually I have to supplement the wort flow through another coiled bucket with ice water. This weekend I made a solution to that problem! Put a rain barrel in the fridge so I can drop the temp down to the mid 30’s. Will need to play around with flow rates some to see how much I need to chill, but it’s a start!
