Columbia State recently honored 19 veterinary technology program graduates in a pinning ceremony.
“Our pinning ceremony celebrates the hard work, compassion, and dedication these students have shown throughout the program,” said Dr. Julie Anderson, Columbia State program director and assistant professor of veterinary technology. “We are proud to welcome them into the veterinary medical profession.”
A veterinary technician primarily functions as professional technical support to veterinarians, biomedical researchers and other scientists. Qualified veterinary technicians are responsible for clinical pathology, radiology, surgical assisting, office and hospital management and other related duties.

Meet our Class of 2027 Class Officers!
Carley Pope, President
Allie Stephens, Vice President
Candace Tidwell, Treasurer
“My name is Allie Stephens, and I am so excited to serve alongside my fellow class officers as Vice President. I hope to make my classmates time in the program a joy-filled and rewarding experience. I would love to see my classmates challenge and support each other to do hard things. During my time as Vice President, I hope that my classmates will feel encouraged and empowered to do amazing work in the field of Veterinary Medicine. Let's make our time count!”
“Hello everyone, my name is Carley. I am honored to be the President for the class of 2027. I am excited to step into this new role and begin a new journey. This is an amazing opportunity, and I look forward to learning and growing alongside my fellow class officers and awesome classmates. Cheers to the class of 2027!”
“Hello, my name is Candace, and I am the treasurer for the class of 2027. I am thrilled to have the privilege to be a part of this program. I’m excited to watch my peers and I grow, especially during clinicals, where I am hoping to dive into ER. Having lived independently for several years has shown me how to budget wisely, and I plan to apply that same commitment to our class funds. I may be permanently sleep-deprived and rely on a bit of playful sarcasm to get through the day, but I’m going to give this role and our program my absolute best. I am eager to see us all achieve our goals as future veterinary technicians.”
