Carolyn Drake’s photographs remind us that photography is rarely about certainty. Her work is filled with movement, fleeting gestures, layered moments, and the poetry of everyday life. Rather than presenting a single, fixed truth, her images invite us to wonder, question, and look a little longer.

She has a gift for capturing moments that feel in motion. A gesture, a shift in energy. Something has just happened, or is about to. Drake's work challenges the idea that a photograph must provide answers. Instead, it can hold complexity, ambiguity, and possibility all at once.
