26 years ago, I graduated high school with one goal: become an educator.

Two days ago, while back home helping my parents, I unexpectedly ran into classmates I hadn’t seen in years—and even my middle school English teacher.

Talk about a full-circle moment.

As I reflected on the journey from high school graduate to educator, interventionist, academic coach, and founder of Elevated Training Solutions, I was reminded of something I see every day:

The people who invest in children matter.

Teachers matter.

Parents matter.

Mentors matter.

Sometimes the encouragement, support, and belief we pour into children today doesn’t show up immediately. Sometimes it takes years before we see the impact.

Looking back, I am grateful for the educators who challenged me, encouraged me, and helped shape the path I would eventually take.

Today, I have the privilege of doing the same by helping students build confidence, close learning gaps, and helping parents better understand how to support their child’s learning journey.

To every parent, educator, mentor, and caregiver: thank you for the seeds you’re planting.

The impact may not be visible today, but it matters.

Who was a teacher, mentor, or adult who made a difference in your life?

One of the greatest gifts of this work is watching children grow and helping parents gain confidence along the way.

When families trust me to support their child, I don’t take that responsibility lightly.

This comment reminded me why I created the Academic X-Ray.

Parents don’t need more guessing.

They need clarity.

They need answers.

And most importantly, they need a plan they can feel confident about.

Thank you to every family who has trusted me to be part of their child’s educational journey. Your support means the world to me. 💙💚

It’s summer, and before the new school year begins, many parents are asking themselves:

“Will my child finally catch up?”

Here’s something I’ve learned after more than 20 years in education:

Not every learning challenge is a learning gap.

Sometimes a child simply needs more time and practice.

Other times, there’s a missing foundational skill that’s making learning harder than it needs to be.

The challenge is knowing the difference.

If your child:
✔ Works hard but still struggles
✔ Forgets skills they’ve already learned
✔ Gets frustrated easily with schoolwork
✔ Has the same concerns year after year

It may be time to look deeper.

The solution isn’t always more practice.

Sometimes it’s understanding WHY the struggle exists.

If you’ve ever felt like something just isn’t adding up, DM me:

Many parents are told, do more.

More worksheets, more practice.

But more isn’t always better.

In math, if they’re missing number sense, 50 multiplication problems won’t fix it.

In reading, if they’re fighting to get the words out, they can’t focus on meaning.

That’s a foundation issue.

Find the real gap first.

5 Signs Your Child May Need an Academic X-Ray Before the New School Year Begins

Summer is often when parents finally have a chance to slow down and reflect on the school year.

Maybe you’ve noticed:

✔ Reading is still a struggle.

✔ Math skills seem to disappear.

✔ Your child avoids academic tasks.

✔ Confidence isn’t where you’d like it to be.

✔ Something just doesn’t feel quite right.

As we get closer to the new school year, now is the perfect time to identify potential learning gaps before they become bigger challenges.

One thing I’ve learned after more than 20 years in education is this:

The earlier we identify the why, the easier it is to provide the right support.

That’s exactly why I created the Academic X-Ray.

🚨 What is it costing you to keep waiting?

Recently, someone shared this with me:

“Additional tutoring, summer school, missed opportunities, and ongoing frustration likely add up to much more than this investment.”

That statement stopped me in my tracks.

Because many parents don’t realize that learning gaps often become more expensive over time.

Not just financially.

But emotionally.

A child loses confidence.

A parent becomes frustrated.

The same struggles show up year after year.

And before you know it, you’re spending money trying to fix a problem that could have been identified earlier.

That’s why I’m such a believer in being proactive instead of reactive.

The Academic X-Ray was created to help parents understand what’s really going on before another school year begins.

Because clarity today can prevent bigger struggles tomorrow.

That’s what a parent recently told me after reviewing her child’s Strength-Based Summary. And honestly, that’s one of the biggest reasons I created the Academic X-Ray.Too often, parents know their child is struggling, but they don’t know why. They see the missing assignments. They see the frustration. They see the grades. But they don’t always see the underlying skills that are impacting learning. What makes the Strength-Based Summary different is that it doesn’t focus only on what a child can’t do.It highlights what’s working, too.Because your child’s strengths matter. Those strengths become the bridge that helps us build the skills that need support. One parent shared that seeing her child’s strengths alongside the areas of need helped her finally understand the full picture. The pieces started coming together, and what once felt confusing suddenly made sense. That’s the power of clarity. When you understand what’s really happening, you can stop guessing and start supporting with confidence.Because your child is not defined by their struggles. They’re so much more than that.✨ Clarity changes everything. If you’ve been wondering whether your child is truly on track in reading or math, comment “XRAY” below and I’ll send you more information.

🚨 What is it costing you to keep guessing?

Not just financially.
Academically.
Emotionally.
Mentally.

Every year, I talk to parents who tell me:

• "I knew something wasn't adding up."
• "I wish I had looked deeper sooner."
• "I thought my child would catch up."
• "I didn't realize how much confidence they were losing."

The truth is many children don't need more worksheets, more apps, or more random practice.

They need clarity.

The Academic X-Ray was designed to help parents understand:

✔ What's really getting in the way
✔ Which skills may be missing
✔ What to focus on first
✔ How to move forward with confidence

Because when you understand the problem, you can choose the right solution.

And that's exactly what the Academic X-Ray helps you do.

🚨 What if your child is losing more than just summer routines?

Summer is supposed to be a time to rest, recharge, and make memories.

But for many families, it's also a time when learning gaps become easier to spot.

Maybe your child avoids reading.
Maybe math facts are still a struggle.
Maybe homework was a battle all school year, and you're hoping next year will somehow be different.

Or maybe you have that feeling that many parents describe as:

👉🏾 "Something just isn't adding up."

Here's what I've learned after more than 20 years in education:

Children rarely "catch up" because we hope they will.

Progress happens when we understand what's really getting in the way.

That's exactly why I created the Academic X-Ray.

The Academic X-Ray helps parents identify learning gaps, uncover patterns, and gain clarity about what their child needs before the next school year begins.

Because parents, you deserve more than guessing.
You deserve answers.
