9 years later and this is what we still deal with……
The appropriate time is now, when we ask for an update. Months after this was supposed to be COMPLETED.
What does Osceola County get out of playing semantics with memorial vs. tribute? Why is this distinction so important to them?
This animosity and aggression is ridiculous. All we want is an update on a project we didn’t even ask for that was supposed to be for us. Why is an update such a challenge to deliver? Makes zero sense.
The County didn’t even have the decency to give us this response. We got nothing. This was given to News 6 WKMG / ClickOrlando, after WESH 2 News did their story and got no response. How many media stations will it take to get an answer?

Exploitation has no reverence for any of the victims or families that were affected by this tragedy!
****Update****
While neither Marco nor Joél had the decency to respond to our email, it appears that the Contigo Fund did receive our correspondence and removed victims' photos from their website and their donation solicitation.
They probably did not respond because they feel embarrassed and ashamed that they were using victims' photos illegally for years to promote the organizations and solicit donations.
Happy to see they corrected their mistake. Disappointed they couldn't even apologize or respond.
Those who claim to support PULSE victims and survivors have, in reality, turned our tragedy into an opportunity to create positions, careers, and "nonprofit" businesses for themselves—often with little tangible benefit to the victims, families, and survivors they cite as the “inspiration” for their ongoing enterprise.

Exploitation of victims and families who were affected by this tragedy has not benefited from any of this. What that means?????!! We have not received zero dollars and zero cents from any of the fundraising events that continue to exploit the victims and families affected by this.

9 years later 💔
and still no memorial to honor the 49 lives stolen on June 12, 2016 —
including my daughter, Deonka “Dee Dee” Drayton.
The promises continue, but so does our purpose.
Through our foundation, we carry forward her heart —
lifting up youth, giving voice to the unheard,
and building the kind of change she believed in.
Because love doesn’t wait for a monument.
It moves. It acts. It lives on. 💜🌈

How did City of Orlando officials get away with so many lies for so many years? About what was then the deadliest mass shooting in US history?
Time for TRANSPARENCY!

This pain has no finish line. But even in the heartbreak, I hold onto peace. 🕊️💔

This image was taken on June 16, 2016 — just days after the Pulse Nightclub tragedy that took 49 beautiful lives, including our daughter, Deonka Deidra Drayton. In this moment, President Barack Obama embraced us with heartfelt compassion as he met with grieving families in Orlando.
His presence didn’t erase our pain, but it reminded us that we were not alone. Deonka’s light, joy, and fierce spirit live on — and we will continue to honor her legacy through action, advocacy, and love.
We will never forget.
We will always speak her name.

This was more than a hug.
On June 12, 2016, our lives changed forever at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida.
President Barack Obama stood with us in our deepest sorrow—bringing comfort, compassion, and the reminder that our pain mattered.
This moment was one of unity, remembrance, and love in the face of tragedy. We honor the 49 lives taken. We carry their names, their stories, and their light.
We will never forget. We will honor them with action. 🕊️🏳️🌈
