I continue to receive multiple calls every day from clients who aren’t sure where I’m located, so I wanted to post a quick reminder about my studio location! 😊

As of January 1st, I moved to:

When you arrive, look for the black and brown building with “Hoot Design Co” on the front. Once here, head up the stairs and you’ll find me in the last door labeled “Spacey.”

If you arrive early, feel free to relax in the lobby area and help yourself to any snacks or drinks while you wait for your appointment.

Ever notice redness, bumps, or slight swelling after a brow wax? 🤔 That’s often a histamine reaction, and it’s completely normal for some clients!

When hair is removed from the root, your body can release histamines (a natural chemical involved in your immune response). This can cause temporary redness, small raised bumps, warmth, or itchiness in the waxed area, especially if you have sensitive skin.

🩷Why it happens:
• Your skin sees waxing as a “minor injury”
• Histamines rush to the area to protect and heal
• More common if you’re sensitive, stressed, or even around your cycle

🩷How to calm it down:
• Apply a cold compress to reduce redness
• Use soothing products like aloe vera or calming serums
• Avoid heat (hot showers, saunas, workouts) for 24 hours
• Skip touching or applying makeup right away
• An antihistamine (if safe for you) can also help minimize the reaction

Good news? It usually subsides within a few hours to 24 hours 🩷

Your skin isn’t “reacting badly”, it’s just doing its job! Always let your wax specialist know if you tend to have stronger reactions so we can take extra care with your service ✨
