To the as***le that dumped these dogs off right in front of me, I hope you burn in fu***ng hell.
I will never understand how someone can look at two Great Dane dogs—loyal, goofy, incredibly loving souls—and decide they’re disposable.
You didn’t just abandon them… you basically signed their death sentence.
You left them on a wet back road, rain pouring down, cars speeding by like their lives didn’t matter. Two confused Great Danes, soaked and scared, running in circles because the only humans they trusted were suddenly gone.
It took us way too long to catch them.
They were terrified. Shaking. One kept trying to move away, while the other stayed close behind like they refused to lose each other. That kind of bond? That kind of fear? It doesn’t come from nowhere. It comes from being failed by people who were supposed to love them.
But here’s the truth sitting in my passenger seat right now.
Great Dane aren’t just energetic, playful dogs people see online. What they really are… is loyal. Sensitive. Deeply attached to their humans.
Right now one of them is finally asleep beside the console, completely worn out. The other is sitting upright, quietly staring out the window like he’s still trying to understand if this is real… or if he’s about to be left again.
That part hits hard.
And I need to say this too—
To the incredible woman who stopped in the rain to help us… who brought food, patience, and kindness when it mattered most — you reminded me that there are still good people out here.
As for these two?
They’re safe now.
They’re warm. They’re dry. And they’re not going anywhere tonight except home.
I have the time, the resources, and the heart to give them what they should’ve had all along — stability, care, and families who truly understand Great Danes.
Not disposable.
Not “too much.”
Just loyal dogs who were waiting for someone to finally choose them.
Tonight… someone did.

I picked up this Great Dane an hour ago.
She’s known me for barely sixty minutes…
And somehow, she’s already asleep in the backseat like she’s finally able to breathe again. ❤️

Curled up beside her pillow wearing tiny shoes and a pink fish-print vest, this sweet girl closed her eyes before we even left the shelter parking lot.

No shaking.
No crying.
No fear.

Just sleep.

The shelter staff warned me she might take time to trust people after spending months being overlooked.

But I think her heart was just tired of waiting.

Now every few minutes, I glance back at her—not because I’m worried…

But because I never want to forget this moment.

The exact second a rescue dog realizes:
“I’m safe now.”

I’m driving slower than usual today.

Because this isn’t just a car ride.

It’s the trip home. 🐾
