Meet Cecile.
Every morning in Burkina Faso, after the firewood is lit and the children are fed, she pulls out her sewing machine and gets to work.
Cecile is in the last trimester of her pregnancy, lives in an impoverished community on the outskirts of the city, and is completely full of dreams.
She says, ”My dream is to improve my skills and become famous for fashion design.”
She still hasn’t had an ultrasound. But when a spot opened up in Compassion’s Survival program at her local church, everything shifted — prenatal support, practical skills and the kind of confidence that doesn’t come from having enough. It comes from knowing you’re not alone.
Some dreams take more courage to chase. Alejandro chased his on a dusty soccer field. âš˝
Growing up in Honduras, he showed up every day with raw talent, determination and a dream. A local Compassion center gave him structure, mentorship and a place to make it real.
Now he’s on the verge of his professional debut.
The dusty fields are behind him. The grand leagues await.

Many people never hear about the good things happening in the world’s hardest places.
A jungle in Peru. A hospital in Africa. A home where hunger was just the daily reality.
Compassion works through local churches to meet children exactly where they are with what they need most. Sometimes that’s food. Sometimes it’s medical care. Sometimes it’s just someone who shows up consistently.
Every child deserves both. The freedom to play and the future that learning unlocks.
Clean water started something no one could have predicted: a thriving garden, a growing business and a father with a future he once only dreamed of. This is what it looks like when hope takes root.
In every child’s smile, we see the face of God 💙

In Chinyanie, a rural village in southern Malawi, the nearest safe water used to be half a kilometer away — and the river was the dangerous shortcut.
What changed it: a solar-powered pump, a raised tank, and three water points built by Compassion International and a local church, with the community’s own hands helping raise it.
Women like Lydia now spend their mornings farming instead of hauling. Children are in school more. And the tap is open to anyone who walks up.
This is one of 22+ water projects Compassion has helped local churches build across Malawi.
