Moon and Venus over Kissing Camels in Garden of the Gods last night...

I've been at my new gallery space 2 years now, and to celebrate I decided to give my 20,000th customer in the new space a free 11x14 matted print: this is Morgan, my 20,000th customer, and I in the gallery this morning, she chose my photo of "the Cabin"--a Milky Way shot in the San Juans last March, as her winning pic.
I'm so grateful for the many interesting and friendly people who I've met in the gallery over the past 2 years!

the fox in our backyard is a little too tame, seemed totally unfazed by me taking pics while napping under a tree yesterday...

Got in a short storm chase Monday, north of the Palmer Divide, this supercell was a beast and was producing baseball size hail, but failed to get it's act together despite being tornado-warned. Here's a few from the road...it was good to get out and see some old friends....

It was a sea of marmots on Mount Blue Sky last week...along with the other usual suspects. Here's a sampler of what I saw on my drive down from the summit:

Some more shots from sunrise on top of Mount Blue Sky last week...

This was the view from the top of Mt. Blue Sky Tuesday morning at sunset, just before the fog rolled in!

Mt Blue Sky is one of my favorite places...ordinarily I'm not super fond of roads up mountains, but the road up this 14,256 foot peak does enable me to get above the tree line on days I ordinarily would not want to be hiking up. Like yesterday, when it was 26 degrees at the summit and fog and snow showers were swirling around the peak. The last mile of the windy steep road up had a thin coat of fresh snow and ice, which made the drive up more interesting. I was the first and only one up top, until a ranger made a quick drive through and presumably determined the road was safe enough to drive on. I had a couple minutes of sunlight at sunrise at the top, then fog moved in and for the next half hour there was nothing but fog, so I slowly started heading down, and this was the view about a mile below the summit as the fog started to clear!

A few more from a beautiful morning in RMNP last week, this is from Dream Lake and Bear Lake at sunrise.
