People will lead. How they lead makes all the difference. DAI equips the servant leader in each of us. The world needs strong Christian leaders.

In our broken world, God plants local Christian leaders to bring the lasting hope of the gospel to their communities. These leaders face enormous challenges — like corruption, disease, persecution, poverty, war — and most find themselves ill-equipped to respond. Development Associates International (DAI) equips these leaders to respond by creating, using and distributing interactive educational to

Congratulations to our most recent Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership (MAOL) graduates!

These men and women are DAI's first MAOL cohort from Mongolia, and many are top leaders in their fields.

We congratulate them on their great accomplishment, and wish them God's blessing and presence as they apply what they've learned in their various spheres of influence.

Earlier this week we shared with you the updated story of Shekina Glory. A young Cameroonian woman who took DAI's Learning to Lead course eight years ago, she's now following God's call to be a servant leader in the field of education.

Eight years ago, young Cameroonian Shekina Glory participated in DAI's first ever cohort of Learning to Lead (Servant Leadership for youth) in Africa.

Now 20 years old, Shekina is completing her associate's degree and feels called by God to be a missionary in the field of education. She believes that DAI's Learning to Lead course showed her what leadership could be, setting the trajectory for her young adult life.

Shekina shares, "Servant leadership is important because it’s essential to lead by example. God made us relational beings, and the more relational you are, the more people listen and follow your example."

When young people are encouraged and equipped to lead like Jesus, they're able to chart a different path from the very beginning. As Shekina demonstrates, they are the leaders not just of tomorrow, but of today as well!

These photos come from a recent DAI Servant Leadership workshop facilitated by our organizational partner Apoyo Cuba. We're so grateful for their dedicated development of Cuba's Christian leaders and their longtime partnership with DAI.

Join us in praying for Apoyo Cuba and the Cuban people during this time of continued economic hardship. We ask for God's provision, peace, and presence, and pray that He would usher in a time of stability and flourishing for this island nation that He loves so dearly.

We're excited that DAI's Growing Marriage course has now been made available to leaders in Burkina Faso!

Leaders are only as healthy as their closest relationships. Growing Marriage helps leaders strengthen their marriages and root them in the solid foundation of God's love.

This spring, DAI International Strategy Director Dr. Kelly Kumbu and his wife, Julie, facilitated a four-day Growing Marriage intensive for 25 Burkinabe leader couples.

The material made a great impact on the leaders, leaving them convicted and excited to apply what they've learned in their marriages—and share it with other couples in their ministry contexts.

We were honored to partner with the team at Compassion International Bangladesh recently, bringing them DAI's course on Women and Men Leading Together.

Facilitated by DAI Senior Consultant Dr. Beth Birmingham, the workshop helps teams grow in embracing the leadership skills and gifting of both women and men.

We pray that this course will help the Compassion Bangladesh team grow in cohesion, teamwork, and effectiveness as they release children from poverty in their country.

As a leader, do you know how to manage conflict?

At DAI, we believe that leaders should not only learn how to resolve conflict, but transform it. Conflict, stewarded well, can actually be an opportunity for leaders to strengthen relationships with and among their team!

Pictured here is a recent Conflict Management and Transformation workshop facilitated by Ehab Tharwat,

DAI Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa.

The participating leaders are elders from various Presbyterian churches from Minya, Egypt. We pray that what they've learned will help the body of Christ flourish in their region.

We are grateful for the work of DAI Myanmar in empowering the next generation of Burmese leaders to lead like Jesus!

Last week, the team partnered with Jewels Future International School to train their educators with DAI's Learning to Lead curriculum. Now, the school's teachers and administrators are equipped to empower their students with the heart and habits of servant leadership.

Pastor Okwi couldn't believe the impact DAI's Servant Leadership course had on his congregation in Rwimi, Uganda.

He had seen how "big boss" leadership (exemplified by the Banyan, or Omutoma tree) had suppressed his people's gifts. Now, servant leadership (represented by bamboo) is empowering them to discover and take ownership of their unique gifts and calling.

Kavita Joshi’s face lights up when she starts talking about fashion. “I can’t put it into words, but I just love it. I could spend all my time around clothes.”

After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Designing and Merchandising, Kavita (pictured on the left) worked for a time in the corporate fashion sector. However, as her family grew, she had to put her passion on hold.

Then, during her Spiritual Formation course in DAI’s master’s program, Kavita heard God encouraging her to take back up the passion He had given her. “God said, ‘Give it to me and use it for my glory,’” she remembers.

What if she created a clothing company that employed marginalized, rescued, and displaced women? “I feel like I cannot keep the gospel and the social cause separate,” Kavita confesses. “Ultimately, the transformation that happened within me [when I met Christ] must lead to doing something for the welfare of society.”

Together with her husband, who enthusiastically supported her plan, Kavita registered her new company, InnoKriti. With the insights and skills she gained in DAI’s master’s program, she is developing her company’s strategic plan and searching for partners to collaborate with.
