Today we here at Prism wanted to take some time to talk about Juneteenth and it's importance in history. June 19th, 1865, marks the day that slaves were decreed free in the last settlement of Galveston Texas, effectively ending any legal slavery in the United States, Juneteenth, or Freedom Day as it is often referred to, stands as a powerful reminder of delayed justice and the enduring strength and resilience of black communities. Juneteenth isn't just a historical marker but is a call to dismantle systems of oppression that black folks face, in all its forms.

Take some time today to look through these slides and take some time every day to uplift black owned businesses, artists, performers, and communities.

And to our black friends, know that you are loved, seen, and we will continue the fight for equality together.

Join Ashley Cornelius and Nico Wilkinson here at Prism on Thursday, June 25th from 5pm - 7pm for our monthly Queering Skills event! This month, we focus on LGBTQ+ Story Telling and how to create and tailor your story in a mindful and effective way!

The event is open to everyone and no registration is required!

Today and always, we remember the 49 lives lost at Pulse Nightclub on June 12, 2016. We honor their memory.

From Club Q to Pulse we remember. For every q***r person who just wants to dance and be free, we remember.

We grieve. We fight. We build a world where love wins and most of all, where we dance.

🌈 Prism's Pride Kickoff Celebration was a wonderful evening of connection, creativity, and community.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, performed, donated, tabled, and helped create a welcoming space for LGBTQ+ community members and allies to gather and celebrate Pride Season together.

We are especially grateful to our community partners, donors, venue partners, volunteers, and performers whose support helped make this event such a success.

Your Mission, if you so choose to accept it, is to show up as you are for community building, light snacks and mocktails, and laidback conversations with other Achillean identifying folks!
