After the GenZ induced government collapse with considerable violence and destruction in September last year, an interim government emerged ironically led by an elderly interim Prime Minister.

Elections to select a new parliament and prime minister are set for this week occurring on March 5th. Results will likely take a few weeks due to paper ballots and rugged geography.

Buddhiman, our national director, is hoping for minimal violence surrounding the election process, but there are many elements that could lead to unrest throughout Nepal.

Our CDN students and Learning Centers remained safe throughout the September crisis. Our Learning Centers will be closed for three days during the election.

Please pray for a peaceful election process with results that will help rather than hinder the minority Christian community in Nepal and the multiple affiliated Christian ministries like Child Development Nepal. It is a big prayer given the realities within Nepal.

One of Child Development Nepal’s initiatives focuses on some of the neediest children in five remote government schools. These children receive school uniforms and stationery supplies and nutritional supplementation.
More importantly these relationships open a door to share authentic spiritual care in an unfavorable cultural setting.
BuddhiMan is gifted to relate and encourage hundreds of marginalized often forgotten students.
