Being an avid hunter and fisherman, I know how your trophies should look once completed. Capturing t TROPHY CARE
Treat your cape as good as your trophy's meat.

The cape will spoil just like the meat if not taken care of.
1. With sharp knife, slit hide circling the body behind the shoulder at the midway point of rib cage. Should be at least 8 inches behind shoulder for full cape.
2. Slit skin around legs just above knees (completely around leg).
3. From behind knee slit BACK of leg all the way up to shoulder. Important not to slit in front of leg as this

Hello friends……I’m in need of a custom carpenter to build bases for mounts. Quality is top priority so experience in building bases, or finish carpentry is required. Here are a few examples of the types of bases we use in shop. Contact me if interested. 719-640-0536 .

Tom and his family had one heck of a couple of years of sheep hunting from Mexico, NWT and BC. Thanks for trusting Elk Ridge to preserve your memories.

Starting tomorrow, we will not be taking any NEW clients until the beginning of next year’s big game season. Between now and sometime in August, 2026, existing clients will NOT be turned away, but may be quoted longer turn times when dropping off trophies. I want to personally thank all of you for supporting Elk Ridge Taxidermy the last 22 years.

Thanks to all of my bird clients for filling up my freezers so early in the year with nice birds. Unfortunately, I will not be taking in any more birds this year in order to get caught up on big game and last years birds. This “pause” in checking in is for JUST FOR BIRDS.

A couple of tanks came in yesterday to get you all pumped for first rifle season. One of biggest to come in to shop on the left. Any guesses on that score? Good luck hunters.
