I had tons of fun in the last week creating a menu sheet. Previously I'd just had a black and white order sheet with a list of my current options. I decided I needed to step up my game and came up with this! We'll see how long before I get bored, but for now I'm enjoying it.
For May, I've put together an Italian Herb and Cheese loaf which is AMAZING. Chris toasted it in bacon grease the other day for breakfast and it's my new current favorite. Until next month that is 😅

✨SOURDOUGH✨
I know, I know. Who hasn’t started a micro bakery? But I couldn’t help myself. I got started awhile ago in our little apartment and when we finally got to move into our house, I couldn’t stop. One day Chris came home to five loaves on the counter and said “We don’t eat bread!” Whoops 🤷♀️
You probably won’t find me at an event with a tableful of sourdough. There are far too many people doing it already and events usually fill up right away. Plus the idea of having to guess how much to make and risk running out or having tons left over doesn’t appeal to me. For now I take orders at Chris’s office and he delivers them when he gets to work, or from friends and I deliver or they come pick it up. Each loaf is baked the same morning it’s delivered so it’s as fresh as it gets.
I have a new flavor each month so I’ll start sharing my menus at the start of the month. Reach out if you have a hankering!

Don’t come at me for a Christmas post in March! I am finally getting around to putting stockings together, hence the varying degrees of completion 😅 I only finished our family set just in time for this past Christmas 🤦🏼♀️
We have lots of family and friends with young families so I’m working to get sets for some of them. Though my brother-in-law hasn’t told me what he wants, so I’m thinking he’ll probably get cheetah print. Or is zebra better?
While I’m getting those done, I’m making extras so I can have them for our Christmas markets later this year. If you are/know a young family who would love handmade stockings, I can almost guarantee I can have them ready before Christmas this year if you let me know within the next 20 minutes 😂

I love a good puzzle and this was no different. After several evenings of cutting (“How much volleyball can one play?” -Chris on night 3), we spent another several evenings getting the layout just right. Which meant picking up all the toys and moving furniture so we had enough room to lay it out and walk around it 🤪 Also trying to get pictures of the whole thing was no small feat. Better pictures is one of my goals for the year.
When I got started, I asked the person who ordered it if they wanted a surprise at the end or if they wanted updates along the way. She asked for updates along the way with opportunities for input. With my Cricut, I was able to create a few things that she felt were missing. I made couple of the numbers and also the blocks that say to keep it more filled in.
This and the baby quilt were both backed with flannel and bound with satin.
I love being able to customize and make exactly what someone is looking for! Save those shirts. I can make them into something really cool!

Here’s a little glimpse of what’s to come! Our realtor texted needing Christmas presents but having piles of shirts. I’ll share pictures of the big one next week, but this baby quilt was so satisfying to put together.
Ok, “realtor” sounds so impersonal. We drug this poor woman to so many places (I think we counted 25 scattered between Calhan and beyond Woodland Park) while we were deciding between buying or building. We joke about telling her we want to look at houses and properties just so we have an excuse to hang out with her. Big boy still talks about dancing with her at a party last summer. If you need someone, let us know! She really is the best!
She asked for a T-shirt quilts for her daughter and son-in-law. Her son-in-law only had 3 shirts, so I took some of her daughters and mixed them in. I was nervous about how that would go, but the colors and themed turned out coordinating so well.
Start saving those tshirts. I would love to make them into a keepsake for you!

I’ve worked to get a baby quilt done for every niece or nephew added on Chris’s side of the family since we got married. My goal is before they’re born, but this one ended up being a first birthday present 🤦♀️
I had tried to use this real tree fabric in a couple other things before this and I’m glad it didn’t work out because this was a lot of fun to put together.
Ok taking good photos is not one of my skills anyway, but I also snapped this at the last second before I sent it out the door. Here’s to better planning ahead!

At the start of the last couple years I’ve told myself that this was going to be the year I make consistent Facebook posts. But this year! This is definitely the year, right? We’ll see. I have a back log of custom projects I did last year that I’ve been meaning to share but just haven’t gotten to-probably something to do with two boys under 3. Look forward to (maybe) seeing more of us and our projects (hopefully) throughout the year! 🤞🏻
