I’m thankful for… perspective.
Just about a week ago, this is what I walked into at my studio. Mirrors shattered and scattered across the floor. I was devastated and in that moment, there wasn’t much I could do about it.
I’m thankful for my husband for helping me settle down enough to recognize the biggest blessing in all of it:
There were no classes happening. No private lessons. No groups using the space. NO ONE WAS HURT. 🙏🏽
Yes, it had to be cleaned up. Yes, I’m still missing mirrors from the wall….But the studio is cleaned, safe, and back up and running.
Sometimes gratitude is simply realizing what could have happened…and being thankful it didn’t.

What’s something that didn’t go as planned lately, but you were still able to find something to be thankful for?
Performance movement coaching means getting the props you need and sometimes that means a mic stand, a square of tape on the floor, and a clear plan for where you need to be.
The little details matter. They help you feel grounded, prepared, and ready to step into the moment with confidence.
Take a look at your own preparation today: What small detail could help you feel more ready?
A little story time about how saying YES to a Business Boot Camp pushed me WAY outside of my comfort zone. 😅
I joined the Business Boot Camp through the Albany Black Chamber of Commerce & Social Club and Main Management and the experience challenged me as both a creative AND a business owner.
This is just the beginning of the story though…
Part 1. To be continued.
It’s more than dance in here.
During this lesson, we had a conversation about not shying away from something simply because it feels challenging.
Because that’s part of the training too.
Sometimes the work is learning the movements, technique, or routine. Sometimes it’s building strength, stamina or performance quality. And sometimes…it’s recognizing the moment your mind says “this is hard” and learning not to immediately back away from it.
Especially with my younger students, I want the lessons they’re learning in this space to travel with them outside of it.
Mindset building. Confidence building. Learning how to work through discomfort. Learning that challenging doesn’t always mean “I can’t.”
Dance just happens to be the tool we’re using to practice it. ✨
And maybe that’s a reminder for all of us: What have you been shying away from simply because it got challenging?
