Good news update time 🌮🐾

Remember that tiny Taco Bell “employee” who showed up as a stray a couple weeks ago? The one we lovingly dubbed Chalupa? Well… here’s the happy ending you guys love to see

Unfortunately no one came to pick him up, BUT he didn’t have to stay here long. Chalupa has officially been adopted and has already landed in a home where he is very much adored and completely settling in like he pays rent 😂🏡

His new family loved him so much they decided to keep his name (because honestly… how do you improve Chalupa? You don’t. You just accept it 🌮).

He’s already making himself comfortable, claiming furniture, hearts, and probably at least one blanket he thinks is legally his.

We are beyond happy for this little guy and his future. Wishing him a lifetime of love, snacks, and maybe—just maybe—the occasional Taco Bell treat (because obviously that’s in the contract now 🤣).

Happy life, Chalupa 🐶🌮💛

Have you ever wanted a kitten with puppy energy, stand-up comedian vibes, and absolutely zero respect for personal space? 😼✨ Perfect. Because Carol has entered the building.

Meet Carol — a tiny tornado wrapped in fur with a purr motor that kicks on the second she’s picked up. 💕
Sweet angel in your arms… and then BOOM 💥 she remembers she’s also a professional chaos gremlin.

Pick her up? Instant purring 😍
Set her down? “Thanks, I live here now… and I choose chaos.” 😈

Carol LOVES attention… just not in a calm, gentle, normal-cat way. Nope. The moment pets continue a little too long, she’s ready to wrestle, pounce, and remind you that your hands are apparently optional toys (they are NOT 🛑🐾). That’s why we stick to actual toys… unless you enjoy surprise ninja attacks on your fingers 😅

She’s not mean — she’s just got big “fun-sized whirlwind with hobbies” energy 💨🎉
She wants to play hard, zoom harder, and keep life very interesting at all times.

Because of her spicy play style, she’d do best in a home that gets her vibe: lots of playtime 🎾, sturdy toys 💪, and maybe older kids who won’t be offended when cuddle time turns into a WWE smackdown 🤼‍♀️😂

If you’re looking for a calm, couch potato lap cat who naps all day… Carol will politely ignore you and go launch herself off the furniture instead 🛋️🚀

BUT if you want a kitten who keeps you laughing, keeps you moving, and keeps life wildly entertaining? Carol is your girl 💖😻

💕 Don't Forget About Mama Kitty! 💕

While her kittens have stolen the spotlight and found homes, Mama Kitty is still patiently waiting for her own happy ending.

This sweet girl was abandoned with her six kittens and did an amazing job raising them. When those babies were adopted, she didn't stop there—she happily took in additional orphaned kittens and cared for them like they were her own. She has been an incredible mama, but now it's finally her turn to be someone's baby.

Mama Kitty is only about a year old herself. She's spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, and ready to go home.

One of her favorite things to do is burrow under blankets and wrap herself up like a little kitty burrito. 🌯🐱 She can be a little shy at first and enjoys having cozy hiding spots, but she's incredibly sweet and just needs a family of her own.

The only thing missing from her story is someone to come take her home and let her spend her days snuggled up in blankets instead of waiting in a shelter.

If you don't remember Mama Kitty, we'll post a video of her in the comments. Take a look—you might just fall in love. ❤️

Please share to help this deserving mama finally find the forever home she's been waiting for.

🐾KITTEN SEASON IS IN FULL EFFECT! 🐾

We have several adorable kittens becoming available at the beginning of this week, and trust us—you’re going to want to come meet them!

🧡 Our orange and white kitten is a female who was found in front of Golden Corral on Temple Avenue. This little sweetheart starts purring the moment you pick her up. She loves attention and cuddles... but don't let that fool you! After a few minutes of petting, she suddenly decides your hand is her favorite toy and launches into full play mode. 😹

🧡 Our solid orange tabby is a male who was also found as a stray. He's a little more cautious and takes some time to warm up to new people, but once he does, he's incredibly sweet and affectionate. At his young age, it won't take long for him to become someone's loyal best friend.

🤍 We also have two gray and white brothers—one medium-haired and one short-haired. Both boys absolutely melt when you pet them and dramatically flop over for more attention. They're still adjusting to shelter life and can be startled by loud noises, but they recover quickly and continue seeking affection. These handsome boys are going to make wonderful family pets.

🐱 And last but certainly not least, we have a beautiful fluffy mama cat and her four precious medium-haired kittens! They won't be available until the following week, but applications are being accepted this coming up week. Pictures simply do not do these little fluffballs justice—they are absolutely adorable. We'll be working on individual photos and introducing everyone by name toward the end of next week.

If you're thinking about adding a feline friend to your family, this week is the perfect time to stop by! Come meet our available kittens, submit an application, and maybe find your new best friend.

We look forward to seeing you Monday! ❤️🐾

🎆🇺🇸 Help Us Keep Our Shelter Pets Calm This Fourth of July! 🇺🇸🎆

The Fourth of July can be a fun celebration for people, but for many animals, fireworks can be a very stressful and frightening experience. Loud noises often cause anxiety, fear, and confusion for pets! Making this one of the busiest times of year for lost animals.

This year, our shelter staff plans to spend extra time with our dogs during the fireworks to help keep them comforted and feeling safe. ❤️🐾

We are reaching out to our amazing community to see if anyone would like to donate bones, long-lasting chews, enrichment treats, or special goodies for our shelter dogs to enjoy during the festivities. These items can help distract and comfort them while the fireworks are going off.

🎁 Donations of the following are greatly appreciated:
• Durable bones and chews
• Long-lasting treats
• Stuffable enrichment toys and fillers
• Special dog treats

We also want to remind pet owners to keep their own animals safe this holiday:

🐾 Ensure collars and ID tags are up to date.
🐾 Verify your pet’s microchip information is current.
🐾 Keep pets indoors during fireworks.
🐾 Create a quiet, comfortable space for them.
🐾 Consider playing calming music or white noise.
🐾 Never bring anxious pets to fireworks displays.

Remember: The Fourth of July is one of the most common times of the year for pets to become lost after being startled by fireworks.

Together, we can help keep all pets—both in our homes and in our shelter—safe, comfortable, and loved through the celebrations. Thank you for supporting our shelter animals and helping them feel secure this holiday season. ❤️🐶🐱

If you’d like to donate treats or enrichment items for our shelter pets, please contact us or stop by the shelter!

Kiki Update! ✨

Look at this beautiful girl showing off her new style! 🐾 We want to give a huge thank you to the kind person who donated handmade bandanas to the shelter—Kiki is proudly wearing one, and we think she looks absolutely awesome in it! ❤️

After putting on her new bandana, Kiki had the zoomies and even showed off some adorable bunny hops around the yard. It’s safe to say this girl knows how to have fun!

Kiki is a Japanese Akita with one of the sweetest personalities you’ll ever meet. She loves attention and has been a joy to spend time with.

We will be completing both dog and cat testing to learn more about how she does with other animals. Stay tuned for updates as we continue getting to know this lovely girl!

If you’re looking for a loyal companion with beauty, charm, and a heart of gold, Kiki may just be your perfect match. 🐕💕
