Meet Terry Wright, a Field Safety Specialist who joined Vector Force Development in Washington five months ago to help champion a culture of care and accountability on the front lines. In his day-to-day role, Terry conducts safety inspections, assesses workplace hazards, leads training, and investigates incidents, but his true passion lies in partnering directly with crews in the field. For Terry, safety is far more than enforcing regulations—it is about earning trust, learning alongside experienced craftspeople, and ensuring every single teammate returns home safely each day, which is why he advises newcomers in the safety field to prioritize relationships just as much as rulebooks. When he is not supporting our teams on-site, Terry enjoys spending quality time with his family, getting outdoors, and giving back through community volunteer work.

Today marks the Coast Guard’s birthday! Join us in honoring them for setting the gold standard in vessel safety, maintaining maritime security, and ensuring every crew returns home safely.

Join us in highlighting Roberto Leal, a Hydro Vac Foreman who brings over a decade of industry expertise and three dedicated years to the Vector Force Development team. Roberto’s crucial work in hydro excavation and sanitary sewer cleaning goes far beyond the surface; he acts as a vital asset for our inspection crews by preventing cross-boring damages, exposing deep underground utilities, and troubleshooting tough situations on-site. What he loves most about his role is the strong sense of unity among his colleagues, a team-first mindset reflected in his advice to newcomers to always ask questions and prioritize integrity. Outside of the hard work he puts in every day, Roberto finds his greatest joy in life's simple moments, especially going for walks with his wife, two young daughters, and their doodle, Charlie.

Vector Force Development is proud to feature Steve Devine, a Dispatcher based in Washington, for June’s Employee Highlight! With a little under three years at Vector under his belt, Steve keeps operations running smoothly by scheduling and coordinating jobs across the traffic control, sewer cam, and hydrovac divisions. His favorite part of the role is the strategy involved in putting a plan together and executing it successfully, though he notes that people often don't realize there is no single, correct way to handle dispatching. To succeed in this dynamic environment, Steve advises anyone entering the field to "always have a backup plan to your backup plan." When he isn't masterfully juggling schedules at work, Steve loves hitting the lanes to enjoy a game of bowling.

As the U.S. Army celebrates 251 years, we recognize the incredible individuals whose devotion protects our freedom. This milestone honors the active-duty soldiers serving globally today, the veterans who led the way, and every service member throughout history who answered the call. Over the past 1.3 years, Paul has been a vital force behind the scenes, handling everything from scheduling and billing to clearing obstacles so our field crews can thrive. For Paul, the most rewarding part of the job is watching his teammates grow and seeing their hard work recognized by leadership, a testament to his own advice for newcomers to "put in the elbow grease and be a sponge for knowledge." When he isn't keeping major projects on track, this kid at heart loves spending quality time with his wife and kids, gaming, or adding to his anime figure collection.
