Many Collierville residents remember Trey Erwin, the Collierville High School student and football player whose courageous battle with cancer touched our community in 2012.
As we observe what would have been Trey’s 30th birthday, the Friends of the Collierville Library and the Erwin family invite you to honor his memory with a gift supporting the expansion of the
Collierville Burch Library.
Together, we can celebrate Trey’s life while investing in a brighter future for our town. Mayor Maureen Fraser is proclaiming July 31st as Trey Erwin Day in remembrance of this milestone birthday.
If you're interested in donating, please visit the link in our bio. Donations made directly to the Friends of the Collierville Library are fully tax-deductible under IRS Section 170(c)(1). Contact Heather Booth, Friends of the Library, at (901)-457-2606 with questions.

The Collierville Police Department, Collierville Fire & Rescue, and other public safety agencies will be on-site at West Collierville Middle tomorrow at 7 am for training purposes. You may see a large number of public safety vehicles, such as law enforcement, fire, and medical on the school campus. The Collierville Police Department is simply using the school campus for training.
Thanks to Dr. Dyer, Principal Shaw and Collierville Schools for allowing us to use the school facilities.

Friendly reminder from Collierville Fire & Rescue:
With more e-bikes on our streets and greenbelts, we want everyone to enjoy the ride safely. E-bikes are heavier and faster than traditional bicycles, which means making smart choices is more important than ever for riders of all ages.
Please keep these “Good Neighbor” safety rules in mind before heading out:
1. Protect the Brain. Helmets are a Must!
Our firefighters see first-hand the difference a helmet makes. In Tennessee, helmets are required by law for everyone under 16. Regardless of age, a properly fitted helmet is the single best way to prevent a life-altering injury.
Ensure the helmet is level, snug, and buckled every single time.
2. Be a Good Neighbor on the Trails
Our greenbelts are for everyone: walkers, runners, and families with strollers. Please don’t take up the entire width of the sidewalk or trail. Ride single file when others are present.
Slow down and use caution when passing. Always use a bell or call out “On your left!” when passing and remember some walkers may be wearing headphones or may be D/deaf or hard of hearing and unable to hear you approaching at higher e-bike speeds.
3. Stop the Dart. Predictability Saves Lives!
Drivers often struggle to see e-bikes because they move faster than expected. Avoid darting into traffic or across intersections without looking left and right (just like crossing a street!)
Follow the same rules as cars. Stop at red lights and stop signs, and ride with the flow of traffic, not against it. Wear bright or reflective clothing whenever possible to help drivers, pedestrians, and other riders see you more easily, especially during the evening hours.
4. Keep distractions to a minimum
We have observed young riders using their phones while operating e-bikes, creating a dangerous situation not only for themselves but for pedestrians, drivers, and others around them. Keep your eyes up, hands on the handlebars, and stay focused on your surroundings while riding.
5. Be a Good Neighbor.
Being a "Good Neighbor" means respecting the power of your e-bike. Racing through parking lots or weaving through pedestrians makes others feel unsafe. Let’s keep the fun in e-biking by being the most respectful riders on the road.
Stay safe this summer!

Collierville budget plan: no tax increase, higher utility bills and more employee benefits Molly Mehner, town administrator, has repeatedly urged elected officials to focus on needs instead of wants, calling the financial plan a “plain Jane” budget.
