🥕🥚 Did you know? At least 20% of everything we grow and raise at Glynwood is donated to local food access organizations.

Last year, that commitment translated into:
🌱 11,835 pounds of Certified Organic vegetables
🐔 6,515 pounds of humanely raised meat and eggs
🥚 Including 1,752 dozen eggs—more than 21,000 eggs!

Through partnerships with food access organizations across the Hudson Valley, we're working to ensure that fresh, locally produced food reaches more families and communities.

Food access is a vital part of building a resilient regional food system—and we're grateful to everyone who helps make this work possible. 💚

What does healthier soil actually look like? Sometimes, it means disturbing it less.

This season, our vegetable team is continuing work to reduce tillage on the farm. Tillage—the mixing or turning of soil below the top layer—is a common farming practice used to prepare fields for planting and manage weeds. But over time, intensive tillage can disrupt soil ecology, reduce organic matter, increase erosion, and damage soil structure.

Reducing tillage in organic systems isn’t always simple. It often requires more planning, more labor, and new tools and techniques. At Glynwood, we’re experimenting with a range of approaches, including tarping, cover cropping, and lower-impact tillage equipment to reduce both the intensity and frequency of soil disturbance.

We’re also extending how long fields stay fallow—resting more land between production cycles and integrating livestock grazing of our cover crops along the way. For crops like carrots, beets, cabbage, cauliflower, and kohlrabi, these changes are already helping us reduce tillage frequency at least 50%!

There’s no single solution, but we’re committed to building farming systems that support long-term soil health, resilience, and productivity one season at a time. 🌱

This is a Friday ritual we can get behind!🍴

Every Friday during Farm Store hours, we’re serving up samples inspired by the season and made with ingredients you can find right here at Glynwood. Think fresh vegetables, local cheeses and dairy, pantry staples, and simple recipes worth recreating at home.

Whether you stop in for your weekly provisions or are just passing through, Tasting Fridays are a chance to try something new, gather inspiration, and enjoy a little bite of the Hudson Valley food community.

Bees welcome! 🐝 New signage is up at the future home of our pollinator meadow across from the Farm Store! This space is being transformed into a biodiverse habitat filled with native grasses and flowering plants that will support pollinators and strengthen ecosystem health across the farm.

Over the fall and winter, tarps helped suppress invasive plants and prepare the land. This fall, we’ll begin sowing a diverse mix of native species—including flowering trees, grasses, and wildflowers.

We can’t wait to watch this landscape come alive with bees, butterflies, birds, and blooms.

Thank you to our partnership with Pollinate HV, a project of Partners for Climate Action, for helping make this project possible. 💚

(And swipe to see our youngest team member making sure the sign is perfectly level 💕)

It’s an all hands (and paws) on deck effort when it’s time to move the flock. 🐑

Every few days, our sheep are rotated to fresh pasture with the help of our livestock guardian dogs. Rotational grazing gives the flock access to a diversity of nutritious forage while also supporting healthier soils and stronger pasture ecosystems.

Next time you visit the Farm Store, listen for the flock’s bahs and see if you can spot which field they’re enjoying that day 🌿
