If there’s an opportunity to speak up for my community, you can be sure that I’m gonna take it! The 2 year moratorium, along with transparency about these dealings from our commissioners and more education on the topic, shouldn’t be suggestions, but the standard of leadership!

Not to mention 50TH IN MATERNAL DEATHS!

Are Georgia politicians making fiscally responsible choices with our tax dollars? The numbers say no.

GEORGIA is ONE OF ONLY 9 states holding out on expanding Medicaid.

Here is the hard math on what this is costing us:

We are walking away from $3.6 Billion annually. The federal government covers 90% of the cost for expansion. Right now, our federal tax dollars are actively funding healthcare in other states while Georgia leaves billions of our own money on the table.

200,000 working Georgians are completely trapped. These are hard-working people in low-wage jobs without benefits. They earn too much for traditional Medicaid but too little for ACA subsidies. Private insurance would cost more than their entire income.

It strains our entire healthcare network. Georgia has the 2nd HIGHEST UNINSURED rate in the nation (12%). When the uninsured use ERs for primary care, hospitals absorb the cost. This financial drain has put nearly 30% of Georgia’s rural hospitals at risk of closure, driving up insurance premiums and straining regional medical centers for all of us.

The state alternative is a financial flop. The "Pathways" program costs Georgia more per person than full expansion because the feds only cover 66% of the cost instead of 90%. Despite the massive price tag, it has enrolled only a tiny fraction of the people who need it.

Fixing this isn't a partisan battle, it’s about fiscal sanity. It’s time to keep Georgia tax dollars in Georgia, protect our medical infrastructure, and support our local workforce.

Good food, great neighbors, and an incredible lineup of candidates! What a great event hosted by the Dade County Democratic Party! The room was packed with candidates ready to put the work in for Northwest Georgia. Let’s keep this momentum building all the way to November!

While communities demand action, Burt Jones has failed to make PFAS contamination a legislative priority or issue public statements on the matter. Instead, he’s being endorsed by State Rep. Jason Ridley, who sponsored the PFAs Receiver Shield Act. That should tell us all we need to know. VOTE THEM OUT!
