Mr Brightside Racing
Mr Brightside Racing Campaign, Optimized Farr 40 by Matteo Poli
06/12/2023
Sad day today.
Mr brightside was sold and will be racing in Detroit from now on.
Thank you Farr 40, will never forget that morning racing to Nassau at 18knots for 4 hours, yes. 18 knots constant boat speed for 4 hours, reaching 21 knots when surfing down big waves.
Racing ORC "Club" in South Florida.
US implementation of the ORC rules of racing in the USA, was the best thing that happened to the sport in recent years. But in order to "save money" to competitors, they push a ORC "Club" certificate that is basically an "Owners Self declare form", which in many cases is far from accurate. To be fair some boats race with the audited ORC International certificates, but many winning boats are racing with Club Certificates.
ORC committee argument is that championship level events "must" require ORC international certificate, but in the USA, not even the SORC series is considered a championship level event.
The class has been growing in South Florida, and more sooner than later, we will have to be racing under ORC international, and allow more international competitors to come. But is all in the hands of SORC leadership to enforce it. Yes, measuring a boat cost money, like in any other ORC venue in the world ! is the price to pay for fair and competitive racing.
