Brevard County officials have issued a countywide burn ban as prolonged dry weather conditions continue to elevate the risk of wildfires across the region. The burn ban, approved by the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners, takes effect immediately and prohibits open burning, including bonfires, campfires, trash burning, and other forms of outdoor incineration.

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Lake, Volusia, Seminole, Orange, Brevard, and Osceola Counties from noon to 8 PM on Thursday, May 7th. Southwest winds 15 mph with gusts to 25 mph combined with low humidity down to 27% to 35% will result in critical fire weather conditions. Sensitive fire weather conditions are expected south of the warning.

Yesterday afternoon, Brush 28 responded to Palm Bay in the area of "the compound" to assist with a large brush fire.

Today, we proudly recognize the dedicated individuals who volunteer their time to support our department as well as Brevard County Fire Rescue and other local departments.

From our firefighters to support volunteers, our incredible group plays a vital role in the daily operations-often behind the scenes, but always making a difference.

We assist with everything from:
