There’s no better way to elevate your proteins than with some local mushrooms. 🍄 Honest and simple, yet freakishly effective at completely elevating even the most "boring" chicken breasts. (JK, breasts are never boring 😉).
“But how? ..I’ve never cooked that!” You say.
It’s okay. We’ll do this together 😏
1 Get some badass protein (steak, chicken, pork, duck, lamb, or even cauliflower) and get some badass mushrooms at Forgotten Block. Bring it home and sear the protein in a cast iron pan. 🥩
2 While your protein is resting, toss in a spoonful of tallow or butter. Hit it with the mushrooms (all cleaned and torn into pieces!! Yes, by hand and uneven! 😵)
3 Deglaze it. Keep it simple: a splash of ACV, the last glass of wine you forgot on the counter since Sunday, or whatever half-finished beer you’re currently holding. Scrape up those brown bits!!
4 Throw in some smashed garlic and a couple of sprigs of thyme. Let the mushrooms swim in that reduction until they’re sticky. A pinch of salt.
5 Top that protein and shine, because you just slayed in that kitchen. 👑
Florungus provides Forgotten Block with fresh local mushrooms! We get a delivery every Sunday. Make sure you come in and chat with The Butcher to see what we’ve got! 🍄🟫
