Tacoma Police Department
This morning, more than 100 Tacoma Police Department officers packed the aisles of Target for our annual "Shop with a Cop" event. The officers es**rt children from low-income families (typically nominated by schools) as they shop for gifts for their entire family. The whole event is made possible by donations from officers and the public. Each year, the children collectively spend more than $20,000 during the shopping spree. Over the 28 years of the program, the program has helped over 1,700 children in the Tacoma area. Officers and other TPD personnel volunteer their time, which includes wrapping the gifts, pictures with Santa and lots of smiles!

Burien Police Department
This morning our Explorer Post helped with Shop With A Cop at the Covington Walmart. This is a great event where youth from the community get to “Shop With A Cop!” The kids paired up with an Officer or Explorer and got to pick out toys, clothes, books and games. It was an awesome event and everyone left with a smile and some great memories!
