Reunions ’26 was an unforgettable weekend filled with countless beautiful moments, big and small and everywhere in between. A hug from an old friend. A shared laugh at the dinner table. An evening spent dancing under string lights and fireworks. Cherished traditions and celebrations. Reunion Weekend always reminds us of the strength of our Hamily ties and encourages us to continue nurturing our one-of-a-kind community. 💙💚

This year, we celebrate 10 faculty members whose combined 300 years of teaching will leave a lasting mark on the Hamilton community. Our retirees are Mark Bailey (computer science), Erol Balkan (economics), Sally Cockburn (mathematics), Ella Gant (art), Patty Kloidt (physical education), Cheryl Morgan (French), Quincy Newell (religious studies), Onno Oerlemans (literature), Margie Thickstun (literature), and Bruce Walczyk (dance).

To honor their tenure, we asked each to reflect on a single moment — inside or outside the classroom — that captures what teaching has meant to them. Their answers offer a glimpse into the relationships, discoveries, and quiet transformations that define a life in education.

Congratulations to three Class of 2026 grads who will be taking what they’ve learned at Hamilton to Teach for America (TFA) and AmeriCorps!

-Emily Pogozelski ’26, a psychology major, will teach elementary school in Fairfax County, Va.
-Analisa Lona ’26, a government and Hispanic studies double major, will teach middle school ELA at KC International Academy in Kansas City.
-Eli King-Bond ’26, a history major and Asian studies minor, will volunteer with AmeriCorps in Kalispell, Mont., helping with its Supreme Court’s Self-Help Law Center.

Last month, Hamilton celebrated exceptional employees and milestone service anniversaries at the 42nd annual Employee Service Recognition Luncheon.

President Tepper announced the recipients of the Beverly S. and Eugene M. Tobin Employee Awards, recognizing one member each from Facilities Management, Staff, and Administration:
🏅 Stan Segur, Carpenter (Facilities Management)
🏅 Stacie Wallace, Student Health Services Coordinator (Staff)
🏅 Lisa McFall, Director of Digital Initiatives, Scholarship, and Collaboration (Administration)

The Wertimer-Couper Award, given to an employee who goes above and beyond in service to students, was presented to:
🏅 Omobonike Odegbami, Director of International Student Services

Over the course of a few evenings in New York City, filmmakers, alumni, and students gathered together for several sold-out screenings and provocative conversations honoring the work and influence of Professor of Cinema and Media Studies Scott MacDonald.

To commemorate the completion of his “Avant-Doc Trilogy,” the series was programmed by MacDonald alongside three of his former students — Annie Berman ’18, Ava Witonsky ’21, and Isha Parkhi ’21 — all of whom now work in film.
