Looking for the perfect weekend activity for your little nature explorers? Bring them out for this month’s Nature Nuts program as we read about one wildflower’s journey discovering what makes her special. Then, we’ll head into our Butterfly Garden’s micro meadow which is bursting with beauty! There, we’ll search for all the different wildflowers and spot some of the animal friends that call this meadow home.

We hope to see you this Saturday at 9:30 am at Clinton Community Nature Center! We’ll meet in the Playforest!

While we always welcome the Clinton Fire Department for educational visits, seeing emergency vehicles in our parking lot is a sobering reminder of how quickly situations can escalate.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the two visiting community members who noticed and quickly reported a recent fire on our grounds. We are equally grateful to the Clinton Fire Department for their rapid response and professionalism in extinguishing it. Out of this stressful event, we were delighted that the firefighters stayed to host an impromptu "show and tell" session with our Trailblazers.

**An Important Reminder:**
Please help us protect our forest, wildlife, and residential neighbors by observing our no open flames policy. We strictly prohibit the discarding of cigarette butts and any unauthorized open flames on the property. Thank you for helping us keep our community safe.

🌿 TAKE BACK THE FOREST 🌿

Join us for a hands-on Invasive Plant Removal Workshop on May 16 from 9 AM–2 PM!

Led by Bo Lackey of Native Mississippi Landscaping, this workshop is a chance to step into the woods and do meaningful, ecologically restorative work—helping clear invasive species and give our native forest room to thrive again. Think of it as a reset for the land 🌱

✨ This is the first of many workshops happening over the next two years, all made possible by funding from the Mississippi Outdoor Stewardship Trust Fund—so they’re completely FREE to attend!

👉 We do ask that you sign up in advance so we can prepare tools and materials. Use the link below!

NATURE DAY IS A GO! 🌿✨

Rain is in the forecast tonight, but it looks like it’ll clear out early in the morning—and we’re feeling hopeful that the sunshine (or at least some dry skies!) will stick around for us 🤞

We do have one small schedule change: Garden Mama will no longer be speaking in Price Hall, but we’re excited to welcome Dr. Audrey Harrison, CCNC board member, who will be sharing all about monarchs!

Come out, explore, learn, and celebrate nature with us—we can’t wait to see you there! 🌼🌳
