Yesterday, the Official Empty Nesters crew came together for an unforgettable event with Manifesting Visual Vibes, and what an amazing time we had!

The room was filled with laughter, connection, and powerful fellowship as we took time to reflect, dream, and intentionally pour our goals onto paper. We went deep in our journals, writing out what we are believing for and what we plan to accomplish in this next season of life.

Then came the creativity! Our Vision coach Bebe guided us in creating our masterpiece. We chose our backgrounds; some had bold colors and others had bright colors. We choose pictures, phrases and embellishments to help us give life to our vision board. We didn’t create just any vision board—we transformed our dreams into beautiful visual artwork, turning our visions into something inspiring and deeply personal.

And of course, no gathering is complete without great food! Guests enjoyed stewed chicken, peas and rice and salmon croquettes from , which added the perfect flavor to an already incredible evening. And the sorrel had hints of ginger that tantalized the taste buds.

A special thank you to for graciously allowing us to host this beautiful event at Goddess Playhouse. If you’re looking for stunning natural hairstyles and braids, be sure to check Rosie out and support her amazing work!

Yesterday’s meet up was more than an event—it was about manifesting the life we deserve, building community, and stepping boldly into our next season.

The next chapter is calling, and we are answering.

As we are taking care of our elders, we need to be advocates for their care. I have experienced a hospital trying to send my love one home before it was medically safe. I advocated and he was placed in a rehab and then they tried it and yup I requested a staffing to discuss care. He had a social worker that was t the best but I persisted and followed up until a treatment plan was developed

Today was match day for medical school. Congratulations to those that matched! I am with this Dr in stating that system needs to change. Listen and give compassion for those going through the pick me phase… it’s hard

Today we remember and honor the legacy of Rev. Jesse Jackson. Rev. Jackson was a civil rights leader whose voice helped shape generations, movements, and opportunities for our communities. “I am somebody” is something I had my daughter repeat often so she could always be connected to her divine power within and help develop her confidence.

During Black History Month, his passing feels especially significant in a time where there is so much uncertainty. Rev. Jackson marched, spoke, organized, and believed deeply in justice, economic empowerment, and reminding people everywhere that their voice mattered. Rev. Jackson’s work opened doors for many of us to walk through today.

For many Empty Nesters, his work is part of the history we lived through, the lessons we taught our children, and the values we continue to pass forward. As parents watching our young adults step into the world, we are reminded that progress happens because someone was willing to stand up, speak out, and lead with purpose.

Today, we honor a life of advocacy, courage, and community.

Let’s reflect together:
What lesson from the Civil Rights movement has stayed with you the most?

Someone asked why I wasn’t posting regularly during Black History month? My response is I wear my blackness everywhere I go, I never walk alone, I listen to my ancestors as they speak to me often, I know my history, I seek knowledge, I correct/teach those who get it twisted, I dance to the rhythms of the drums, I pay honeage to those who came before me, I walk in confidence, I hold my head up when I am in rooms I never thought I would see, I am slow to speak, I mentor and encourage those around me, I carry heavy burdens I don’t speak if because of my belief that GOD has made my path and will always take care of me, I am the eldest child, I am a sister, I am the eldest cousin, I am a mom of one, I am strong, I exude/celebrate my blackness and wear my black skin daily so I want to be clear…posting doesn’t define my celebration of my history but all the things I mentioned that embodies me DOES. I am a proud black woman who has layers you don’t see
