Sad announcement.. We will not be opening the field this year due to a poor crop stand. Our timing just wasn't quite right and with all the rain, weeds have out competed our seed. Hopefully next year goes much better and we see you all then!

In the meantime, if you are looking for a sunflower field, MDC has a field by Columbia that is in bloom until late August. Here is a link for that. 💛🌻💛

Well, it was miserable hot, but Brant was hard at work this weekend getting sunflowers in the ground! Thanks for your hard work, Brant! (Also pictured: Jake, honorary farm hand and designated planting supervisor)

As many of you know, Farmer Chuck struggled with dementia the last few years of his life. Because of this, memory loss causes are near and dear to our hearts.

Tomorrow, Frank's Fish Shack (on 7 hwy down by Tightwad) will be having a nice event to celebrate their dad/grandpa Frank's heavenly birthday! A portion of the sales goes to the American Alzheimers Association. 💜 Not sure what's on the menu, but the shrimp basket and Cajun mac and cheese are our favs! Temps are also going to be much better tomorrow, so it's a great opportunity to take the family out for some fun!

Update 8/24/23: Once again, the field has reached the end of its glory and we are closed for the season. This year's bloom saw lots of triple digit heat and our first significant rain in months...It has been a wild ride, but that is just the nature of farming! We so appreciate those of you who came to check out the flowers and supported the animal shelter! Hope to see everyone next year!

Update 8/18/23: It's a beautiful evening! We are open until 8pm tonight, so you have plenty of time to make it out for sunset! 😍 Tomorrow and Sunday we will be open from noon to 8pm. See you at the patch!

Reminder: There is no set admission fee to the sunflower field, but we are accepting donations to the local animal shelter! There is a donation box at the entrance to the field! 🐶😸

Update 8/15/23: Beautiful day today! Thanks to everyone who came out! Hours for this week are as follows:

We will be open Wednesday (8/16), Thursday (8/17) and Friday (8/18) from 4pm to 8pm.

Saturday (8/19) and Sunday (8/20) we will be open from noon to 8pm.

Update 8/15/23: It's a beautiful day on the farm! The sunflowers look great, the field is drying up and we are OPEN from noon to 8pm!! Come see the flowers while it is nice and cool! 💛🌻💛

Update 8/12/23: Good news and bad news. Bad news first! Because of the super soggy field conditions and the forecasted all day rain event Sunday, we will be closed tomorrow 8/13/23. ☔️ Now the GOOD NEWS! We will be opening additional evening hours during the week, so stay tuned for that! Also, next weekend looks nice and dry 🥳

We'll be open the rest of the day, but wear your mud shoes! I just took a stroll into the patch and lost a shoe! It is WET.

Update 8/12/23: We got some much needed rain last night, but it is MUDDY today. We are going to open as planned, but boots or shoes you don't mind getting muddy are a must! See you at the patch!
