Yesterday we were able to host a Learning Lab in Roseville focused on computational fluency. Grateful for the teachers who opened up their classroom for us. It was a great day of learning! Thank you to the MAISA Early Math team for supporting this work.

We had the opportunity to host the Macomb Association of Curriculum Administrators in a learning lab this week. Thank you to the fabulous students, staff and educators from Westwood Elemetary who welcomed our group to their beautiful school. Kathy Hribar completed her Math Recovery Specialist capstone in the spring. As a Math Coach for Warren Woods Public Schools, Kathy connects her knowledge of early math concepts with a passion for children’s learning to build a system to support the adults in her district. Congratulations Kathy!

Two great course offerings for secondary math teachers coming up: BTC Course 1 & BTC Course 2. Course 1 will equip teachers with the foundational practices of Building Think Classrooms and support them with materials to try them out in their classrooms: a BTC book, a set of 10 wipebooks, markers, and erasers. Course 2 will build on the work of Course 1 and dig deeper into additional instructional practices.

Congratulations to Michelle Deaton from Westwood Elementary in Warren Woods Public Schools who completed her Math Recovery Capstone today! Her journey began in 2017 when she was one of the first special educators in Macomb County to take Add+Vantage Math Recovery. Michelle’s commitment to lifelong learning shined in her presentation today.
