Medstar donated an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the Davison Odd Fellows last night. Northern Operations Manager, Jeremy Compau, made the presentation to Lodge member, Jeff Garrett, who made the application through the Shock and Save Initiative grant program. They were so excited, they installed the wall cabinet before Jeremy made the presentation!

Southeast Michigan is once again under a Heat Advisory today with the heat index reaching near 100 degrees. Please stay hydrated, wear loose-fitting clothing and try to limit the time you spend outside. Check on your elderly neighbors too.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed part of the region west of Metro Detroit under an Enhanced Risk (3 out of 5) for severe weather today, while the rest of the region remains under a Slight Risk (2 out of 5) on the severe weather scale.

If you find yourself driving in a downpour, turn on your headlights, slow down and increase your following distance and avoid driving through standing water.

This week, a patient reached out to express her gratitude for the crew that transported her home in St. Clair Shores. That crew was EMTs Daiyaan Bradshaw, Jalen Williams, and Amarea Smith.

This patient was so happy with her care she said: “Daiyaan was a true gentleman. He made sure I was comfortable and covered up at all times. He truly made me feel seen and comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. Jalen was a true jokester. He was making tasteful humor to me, which made me laugh. I enjoyed the banter we had. Amarea was very polite and comforting.”

Great job on your professionalism and care for this patient. It made a positive impact on her!
