“WHAT EXACTLY IS BACA?”

BACA stands for Bikers Against Child Abuse.

From what I understand, BACA is made up of bikers who come together for one specific mission: helping abused children feel safe, supported, protected and empowered.

They use the presence and strength of the biker community to help children who have experienced abuse feel like they’re not standing alone. Members may support children and their families, show up when that child needs reassurance, accompany them in certain situations, and help give them a sense of security during what can be an extremely difficult time in their lives.

And that’s something I think deserves recognition.

A lot of people outside the motorcycle community see a cut, tattoos, motorcycles and a group of bikers and automatically assume the worst. BACA shows another side of biker culture—the side where strength can be used to protect somebody who doesn’t have much strength of their own yet.

Now, I’m not a BACA member, so I’m not going to sit here and pretend I know every detail about how their organization operates, their internal rules, their membership process or their relationship with traditional MC protocol. I’d rather hear that directly from somebody who actually wears their patch.

So if you’re a BACA member—or have firsthand experience working with the organization—tap in.

Educate the community.

What does BACA actually do? What does it take to become a member? How does your organization operate, and what do you wish the general public and the MC community understood about your mission?

Sometimes the best way to learn about a movement is to hear directly from the people doing the work.

Go chase those goals. Lift heavy. Work hard. Stay humble. And remember… barbarians aren’t made when life is easy…they’re forged through the struggle.

Men have to learn how to deal with other men…

Look…this is something nobody really teaches men.

How to deal with other men.

Think about it…you take 10, 20 or 30 grown ass men, all from different backgrounds, different neighborhoods, different families, different generations and different walks of life…then put them all in one room and expect everybody to magically get along.

Good luck with that s**t. 😂

Especially in a motorcycle club.

You got strong personalities. Egos. Pride. Different opinions. Different ways of communicating. One bro thinks he’s being direct…another bro thinks he’s being disrespectful.

One bro likes to talk s**t out.

Another bro doesn’t want to talk about s**t.

One bro can take constructive criticism.

Another bro hears one thing he doesn’t like and now his feelings are hurt for three weeks.

That’s why learning how to deal with other men is just as important as learning any other part of brotherhood.

Every disagreement doesn’t have to become beef.

Every difference of opinion isn’t disrespect.

Every time somebody corrects you doesn’t mean they’re trying to embarrass you.

And every time somebody disagrees with you doesn’t mean you have to prove you’re the toughest mother f***a in the room.

Sometimes you’re wrong.

Sometimes he’s wrong.

Sometimes you’re both right…you just see the same s**t differently.

That’s life.

Part of becoming a better man is learning how to control your emotions long enough to actually listen to another man.

Can you take criticism without getting defensive?

Can you apologize when you’re wrong?

Can you disagree with a brother today and still sit down and break bread with him tomorrow?

Can you respect a man you don’t particularly like?

Can you have a problem with somebody without trying to make everybody else have a problem with him too?

That’s maturity.

And brotherhood doesn’t mean everybody is going to be best friends.

That s**t is unrealistic.

There are going to be brothers you love being around…and there are going to be brothers that get on your last fu***ng nerve. 😂

But if you share the same house, same team, same organization or same patch…you have to learn how to function together.

Because the real test of brotherhood isn’t how we treat each other when everybody is laughing, riding and having a good time.

The real test is how we treat each other when we’re pi**ed off.

Anybody can be your brother when everything is good.

Learning how to still be brothers when you can’t fu***ng stand each other that day?

Now that takes some grown man s**t.
