I met a trucker one foggy morning in Wytheville, Virginia, at a rest stop where the coffee’s always strong and the silence hits just a little harder.
He didn’t want to give his name — just said,
“Sometimes it hurts too much to explain. I just want the story to live.”
He handed me a crumpled napkin with words scribbled across it. It wasn’t poetry, but it was truth. And that truth became this song.
“Two Coffees for One” is about missing someone so deeply that even the road can’t outrun the ache.
