🚛 What? Touch-a-Truck: Get up-close and personal with big service vehicles and hear from the people who drive them to learn how they work hard in our community. Free ice cream at 11 AM while supplies last!

Mark your calendars! 📅🚛 Slavic Village Development is hosting our first ever Touch-A-Truck event on Saturday, September 26th, 2026, from 11 AM–3 PM in the parking lot behind our office at 5620 Broadway Avenue (enter via Dolloff Road). 🚜 Free fun for the whole family—come check out the trucks up close and hear about the jobs they perform. Free ice cream treats too! 🍦 See you there!

Qualifying repairs include small plumbing projects like leaky faucets and toilet repairs, staircase handrails, bathroom grab bars, gutters, and more. 🏠 Call Pam for an application to see if your needed home repair will qualify! Staff Success Spotlight: Slavic Village Development is proud to celebrate Tuba Baloglu, Director of Commercial Development, for earning her Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) certification through Grow America! 👏

She started the four-course EDFP Certification Program in November 2025 and participated in real-world projects to cover business credit, real estate finance analysis, loan packaging, negotiation, problem solving, and deal structuring topics—the financial skills needed to turn development opportunities into meaningful results for communities. She looks forward to applying her knowledge while supporting our local entrepreneurs, strengthening business & real estate projects, and bringing new investment and economic opportunities to Slavic Village!

Just today, Tuba is also starting the Community Development Corporation Leadership Program (CDCLP) through the Mandel Foundation; a year-long program designed to strengthen the skills, knowledge, and capacity of current and future staff and board leaders of our Cleveland CDCs.
