Happy National Intern Day! This summer, Rec2Connect was excited to welcome 2 outstanding interns to our organization and mission. πŸ’™

⭐Carrie, a student with the University of Toledo, has been working with our camps, VA program, aquatics programs, fitness programs, swim team and more. She has also played a role in developing a large project for R2C and we're so grateful for her time here!
⭐Allison is another student with the University of Toledo and she has spent time in our outdoor programs like kayaking, hiking club, and biking club, as well as our aquatics program and VA program. Thank you, Allison, for your hard work this summer!

We've got spirit, yes we do, we've got spirit, how 'bout you!? πŸ₯³ Members of Rec2Connect's Inclusive Cheerleading and Spirit Squad had their final performance for Empower Sports flag football team in Lakewood last Monday! Our squad members invited all of their friends and family for a beautiful day on the football field cheering on Empower's players!🏈 We're incredibly proud of all of our members and the hard work they put into learning cheer motions, cheers and a full dance routine! πŸ’™ We'd like to give an extra special thank you to Kaulig Giving for generously providing a grant that helped to support our cheerleading season. Thank you to everyone who cheered us on last Monday!

July 25th is World Drowning Prevention Day, a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about drowning prevention and promoting proven, evidence-based strategies that save lives. 🌊

Every year, more than 300,000 people worldwide lose their lives to drowning. Learning water safety and swimming skills can make all the difference.

At Rec2Connect, our Adapted Aquatics and Aquatic Therapy programs help individuals with and without disabilities build confidence in the water while developing essential swim safety and life-saving skills in an inclusive, supportive environment.

Together, we can help make water safety accessible for everyone.
